This is one of my favorite screenplays. I just like everything about it. Nothing is as beautifully perfect and perfectly beautiful as this.

I wanted to read this one from ages, and I'm glad that I finally made it,
It's all dreamlike real and really dream.

It makes me so happy to know that such books exist and the possibility that unimaginable things can happen in life too..

Have you ever taken a journey alone? Have you felt the thrill of meeting someone on a journey? When you take a seat in the train/ bus and wander who would come and sit next to you? Will it be someone you can talk to? Do you still remember that conversation you had with a young stranger on the journey somewhere. You forget the face, you forget the journey but you never forget the conversation... It is like you are living a moment only to create beautiful memories for the future... this is THE pre ...more

After all what is life but that ONE DAY we wish to live. That ONE DAY with that PERFECT PERSON. That ONE DAY full of life. The first thing that i noticed is their eye language ,
Like, what happend in vienna has already changed their Life upside down..
You could see this tear that almost drop from their eyes, cause they feel ma..mad because they had to wait.
Only 9 years ,could make this night worth to remember.
For so long time i was telling people to watch this movie , but i ended Up with nothing..

I have always been fascinated by films. The ability to show a story in motion is just to much to resist. While I have studied and watched many films throughout my life, not many have touched me like these two films. The subtle nuances of lost and found love in these films have had a deep and lasting impact on my creativity. When I heard that the two screenplays where being released together, I quickly set out to buy them and have read them over and over, seeing the scenes and body language from ...more

I love these screenplays. They are so beautiful. If anyone has seen these movies and loved them, then buy the screenplays. I only wish I could go home right now and watch the movies back to back.

These films have always been a barometer for me about the romantic inclinations of my partners. These movies have the capability of being extremely cringe worthy at times--yet they speak to the ideal of having the perfect day with a perfect partner. Most of the banter is great and have the intellectual riposte one would hope in a true love.

I don't feel the films are naive enough to believe in soul mates, but really just people who can complement you so well--at certain times of your time. But e

Two of my favorite films in book form?? Hells yeah!

This was such a pleasure to read. I was especially thrilled to find pieces of the original script that had been cut from the films. It was like discovering deleted scenes for the first time. So wonderful.

I do recommend that readers not familiar with the films watch them first. There were so many Pinter moments and meaning conveyed through gestures/actions that are not described here. Unless you know these moments by heart, much will be lost.

Before Sunrise:

OK so I finished with Before Sunrise. I read it while watching the movie. The actors and the feel of it, kept true to the script. Even though there were some scenes that were changed, most of the conversations were the same. It's a nice story that could happen to any one of us if we have the courage to take that chance. The feel of the entire story is very relaxing, just like two best friends or normal people having to talk about themselves. The appeal to me is this freedom to be

I watched both of these movies in my film class and had to read the script (this book) to write a paper about it. I loved both of them! I think it's kind of like a fantasy come true, meeting someone in a foreign city and spending one day with them and never seeing each other again. It seems a little cheesy but the fact the both of the characters are made so human and awkward and unsure of themselves made it much mroe believable and enjoyable.

I will say though, I liked the first better than the

An interesting screenplay consisting almost entirely of dialogue. "Before Sunrise" felt very much like a genuine conversation between close friends, the kind you often have when young... You talk about everything and anything. The conversations seem pointless, but the clash of ideas and forced introspection help you discover who you are.

For instance:

“I always think that I’m still this 13-year old boy that doesn’t really know how to be an adult, pretending to live my life, taking notes for when

Before Sunrise is my favorite movie of all time. The ease with which Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke exchange ideas changed my life. Richard Linklater and Kim Krizan have the ability to simplify complicated ideas without dumbing them down.

Bringing on Delpy and Hawke to co-write Before Sunset was a genius move. In the first movie, their personal quirks and emotions give the script the energy it didn’t know it needed. By writing it in to the second screenplay, they guaranteed the same flow that made B

I loved it! I've seen Before Sunrise twice and the majority of Before Sunset twice and I loved being able to have the images in my head and almost recreate the film in my mind. It's interesting to see how the actors deviate from the original script in the film to make the dialogue smoother and see how things might have went differently if they had stuck with the written lines. For the best experience, I recommend watching the films while reading the screenplay, it's absolutely perfect.

Ambas películas siempre me generaron lo mismo: ganas de tener un cuaderno al lado para anotar todas las frases de reflexión memorables. Por eso compré el libro, y cumple lo que deseaba.

Both films generated always the same wish: to have a notebook next to me to take note of the memorable sentences of reflection. So I bought the book, and it fits what I wanted.

I purchased my copy of the screenplays from the bookstore where the second movie begins (Shakespeare and Company) and gobbled up the second screenplay while waiting to go up the Eiffel Tower. I loved that the screenplay of the first movie included many scenes that were cut from the film. Intelligently written and incredibly romantic. Love the storyline.

These two films are among the best of modern cinema. While the screenplays are no substitute for the films, they are fascinating "blueprints" (and more) with fascinating excised and altered material. "Before Sunset" is a fascinating collaborative effort co-written by the actors.
