The info on the back of the book says -

In 1984, Sister Agnes, an Anglican Franciscan nun, went to live alone on the remote Shetland island of Fetlar, her days filled with prayer, work and the rhythms of the sea. This book tells the story of the divine coincidences which brought her to the island.

I read this book some years ago and also the following books Sister Agnes wrote about how the place where she settled grew and grew. She has provided somewhere for people to visit and stay who love the remoteness of The Shetlands whether for religious reasons or not. It is not for everyone but these gentle books touched me. I have no idea how things are now but some people did decide to stay there with her and she formed a little community. There are guest houses both for those who visit for spiritual reasons and those who just want a peaceful break away from the world in general.
