This book is a tribute to my parents, Martha and Coyne Callaghan. I felt compelled to write this book because I believe their approach to raising children is something special and should be shared with the world. Writing this book with my parents has been one of the most gratifying and enjoyable experiences of my life. It is a story about my experiences growing up and how my parents shaped my life! "Raised with Praise" highlights my parents' approach to raising children and captures my life as a child, teenager and parent. It includes stories from my family, parents, brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. This book is for all the parents who were once children and ultimately the children who will one day become parents. My goal for writing this book is on a grand scale. I want to enhance the circle of life, in a positive way, for many generations to come. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the book and it puts a smile on your face and happiness in your heart!
An awesome read! Inspirational, faith based and full of fun. Take the Journey with Bill and his 11 siblings. It doesn’t matter if you came from a large or small family you will love this book. All things are possible. Bills mother raised 11 children, gave birth in four decades, did the books for the family business and took other kids along on vacation. It took two VW busses just to go to church and on vacation. All while Bills dad traveled on the road selling to keep the family business going. This book touched my soul and brought a smile to my face. rj
This is the story of the Callahan family and the start up of a family business. But, it was mostly it was a philosophical story of looking at life positively and seeing the best in yourself and others.....being interested in you family and their activities. The large Callahan family did get into mischief, but it was handled with respect and common sense and was fun to read about. I found it interesting to learn a little about the Irish coming to America.
The second half of the book got a little too religious and political. And since the political views are the very opposite of mine it of put a damper on the book for me. Maybe in books and business it's best to tread lightly around politics and religion. I don't care what political party someone is for I don't like it when the President is '"dissed". I think it's disrespectful to Americans.
