Never let it be said this author pulls a single punch, skirts around a situation or doesn’t tell it as it is….once again Kerry Barnes is in top form in this Book 1 of her new series
At times brutal this story leaves no stone unturned when Georgie’s daughter is left for dead after a brutal attack, there is a serial killer on the loose but Grorgie knows the attack is revenge based, for something she dared to report when she was serving in Afghanistan
We meet a wide range of colourful and unforgettable characters who will stop at literally nothing to get to the truth and find the culprits
Georgie is NOT to be treated like a fool and woe betide anyone who tries
A no holds barred exciting read where we are kept on the ‘edge of our seats’ from page 1
Loved it and straight onto Book 2 🤗

Once again Kerry Barnes, writes a thrilling, brilliant, full of OMG moments and leaves reader wanting more book.
Kerry moves away from gangland and what a masterpiece this book is.
We get introduces to Georgie Deacon, a widower who raised her daughter Dixie Lee single handedly
Readers will fall in love with Georgie as her life is turned upside down.
We have serial killings, we have revenge, we have love for ones family and most of all we have cliff hanger.
I read this book in 24 hours, stayed awake and just kept reading because I couldn't put this book down
You must get this book and find out who why and how

I really enjoy reading Kerry Barnes' books. They can seem a bit far-fetched at times, but it really seems you are reading an action film. Now, onto the next book in this series...

Marmite?
When I read the blurb for this book, I was almost certain I wasn’t going to like it.
I was so wrong!!
Hooked from the very beginning I really didn’t see any of the twists coming.

Where to start giving my opinion on such a great read, it downloaded on to my kindle yesterday morning and I couldn’t wait to start it and would have kept going only for having to go to work, there are a few parallel stories running along the main one but are connected to Georgie, I was torn between wanting to finish to see what happens and trying not to as I didn’t want it to end so I was delighted when I discovered it’s a trilogy.

Oh wow, this was a real page turner and one of the best books I’ve read this year. I love stories about people who abuse their power and none so much as in the military. Having done a short stint in the TA myself, I quickly identified with the characters, as well as the pecking orders, the regime and the corrupt misogynistic officers Kerry refers to. I loved the main character, Georgie, too, with her tough no nonsense approach. Some characters in this story are pretty vile, and none so much as the Marx family, who terrorise the estate. All in all, this was a fantastic, thrilling, hard hitting read and I couldn’t put it down! Very well done to the author and I look forward to the next; assuming there will be a next book, but how can there not be, given that shocking cliff hanger ending? A well deserved 5 stars.

I loved this book and always any books that Kerry Barnes writes. The plot was really interesting as it gives us a very tiny glimpse of army life.

Well, where do I start? Another winner from Kerry.
From the first page, I was dragged in, her writing is so mesmerizing I can't get enough of it she definitely has some very strange things going on in her head.
This story the start of a trilogy had me holding my breath as her description of some of the people and violations that went on was literally breathtaking.
It was an excellent story with a few hunky characters thrown in.
I strongly advise anybody to read this you will be kept sitting until you finish it.

Wow what a page Turner.
I always look forward when Kerry Barnes brings out a new book and it's always entirely different .from the first page I knew I would like it and it only got better every chapter that I read .I am now waiting patiently for her next series .I give this book five stars plus more .I would recommend this book .

audiobook review.
The narrator told the story well with a variety of accents which i enjoyed. Great story with twists and unpredictable events. I found that there was alot of characters to remember which was challenging at times but obviously added to the depth and spin off storylines. looking forward to the next one in the series

Great book, certainly not what I was expecting. Kerry Barnes has a brilliant way of telling stories that keep you hooked all the way through. Full of exciting twists and turns, characters you can easily believe in and one hell of an ending.

Wow what a brilliant well crafted and gripping read. Brilliant doesn't even begin to cover it. Kerry has excelled herself with this book. I'm so excited for book 2. I want to read it now but I must resist! I of course highly recommend this book!

this book has so many twists and turns it was like being on a book rollercoaster, couldn’t put it down. This is why I’ve taken so long to read it so fantastic. can’t wait to read the rest of these books.
