I really liked this collection of stories from Alexa Verde which were originally part of the multi author series Chapel Cove Romances. It was great being able to go from book to book in this collection because although each book could be read as a stand alone story there were some characters and stories that were carried over from the previous book. Many of the people in the books were either related or were long time residents of Chapel Cove, Oregon. The characters in the stories were in their late thirties or just turning forty. Many of them had troubled marriages and starting over in Chapel Cove after a bad divorce and some were grieving the loss of a loved one. All of these broken characters will find a fresh start in a faith filled community of people that truly cared for one another.
Book 1: Love Me A woman just divorced from her cheating verbally abusive husband will find a new love with a man grieving the loss of his wife and his sweet five year old daughter. Would her ex try to manipulate her again by using her new relationship against her?
Book 2: Hold Me She left Chapel Cove two decades ago and married another man breaking the heart of Roman. Now she's moved back with her teenage son and runs the local pastry shop. Will the truth about what really happened twenty years before give Roman and Aileen a second chance at love?
Book 3: Belong with Me She's back in Chapel Cove to watch her teenage niece and he's in Chapel Cove to watch his two nephews while both sets of parents go on a cruise together. Circumstances keeps throwing the two of them together while watching their niece and nephews. Will their temporary stay give them a permanent relationship?
Book 4: Don't Leave Me She's looking to find out the truth about her past and he's trying to get over the hurt of his past. These two neighbors will work together to repair the house she purchased in Chapel Cove. She's getting it ready to bring home a possible relative recovering from an accident. This takes place at Christmas and there's lots of wonderful Christmas activities bringing them together like caroling and decorating a tree. Will she decide to keep the house or go back to her old life after the truth is revealed about her past?
I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review.
Love Me Wow. This book definitely took a direction I wasn’t expecting! It was an enjoyable book with a lot of communication and some fun circumstances. I liked the realness of relationships and life.
Hold Me I love how all of these books overlap - incredible the coordination between the authors. I’m so super excited to reach Roman’s story!! It was a wonderful read. My favorite so far. A lovely single mom second chance.
Belong with Me This was a sweet romance with kids and teens and pets. It was about parenting and self esteem. It was a lovely read with good lessons for those of us - especially women- dealing with insecurities about ourselves and what other people think of us.
Don't Leave Me I really enjoyed this romance. There were a lot of things tied up unexpectedly in the end. I enjoyed getting to know all of the characters.
Four great stories set in Chapel Cove. These stories enjoy a lot of the same characters. I particularly loved Chelsea. The storylines are all interesting and the characters are well written. Clean, Christian romances that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
I love this set by Alexa Verde. So many romance stories are focused on young couples but these books show that love is not just for the young. The characters are great and they portray not only a longing for romance but also a longing for and reliance on the Lord. These books bring a bit of sunshine, humor and hope to anyone who has ever found themselves in similar situations.
These are 4 interlinked but stand alone stories set in Chapel Cove in a multi author series. I love all the books by Alexa Verde and these are no exceptions especially if you like strong heroines and second chances at love. I received an advanced readers copy of these books but this review is my own.
This is a collection of really great Christain books set in Chapel Cove. I truly enjoyed all the characters and their stories and how these christains used their faith to make decisions. A really great series that I totally enjoyed.
Loved all of this book set. You can find love and happiness after the age of forty as proved by all these stories. Each couple deserved true love and happiness ever after.
This is one of my favorite authors. My only complaint is that it is over. The characters are fun and easy to like. They are well developed. I could see myself befriending them. The romance is sweet. The faith is heartfelt. This set has it all.
Another great set of stories! I love how, even in the midst of an otherwise lighthearted romance story, Ms. Verde can slip in poignant moments and beautiful insights that enrich the emotional journey.
All four stories lines were written excellently. All at one time or another will have you in tears and then you'll be laughing. Families are the best medicine for broken hearts. Definitely a must read series. Alexa Verde I definitely will read more of your books.
