5 stars as this accomplishes exactly what it was designed to do: give a brief history of ancient Greece and all of its aspects, including the arts, politics, military, philosophy, housing, farming, mythology and more. A truly wonderful resource book.
My copy was called The Usborne Illustrated World History of The Greeks but I'm sure this is the same book (same editors). I found it really interesting.
Comprehensive but a bit shallow in places. A decent research source for middle-school students who want to know a little about a lot of different elements of the culture of Ancient Greece but not too much about any one topic.
It's a good short read and well organized with beautiful illustrations. It does glaze over a few parts that aren't exactly kid friendly. Which is a little unfortunate as the full context would actually change the portrayal a bit.
