This is a pamphlet more than a book. Good information and background on ghost towns in and around (but not limited to) Death Valley. The "current" condition of ghost towns described in this book are obviously out of date by now, but still good information.

Be aware that there are two volumes that deal with Death Valley ghost towns. This (Volume 1) is more extensive and covers more of the region than does Volume 2. Essentially, Volume 2 is a subset of the information in this Volume. Unless your interested specifically in the southern region, Volume 1 (this book) is more comprehensive and is the one to get.

Having visited the Valley many years ago and having purchased a series of books on the area I’d hadn’t actually read them till now. Whilst the level of detail is great and book is in reality oversized, they are good read if you have any interest in past history in the late 19th and early 20th century
