I won this book in a goodreads drawing.

If you're thinking of getting life insurance, or thinking about thinking about it, this is the book to start.

I once worked with a guy who sold life insurance on the side and one day he gave me a pitch--I'm pretty sure it's like vomiting, you try to stave it off as long as you can but eventually it comes up and out. I tried listening and, understanding but, Christ, life insurance is so complex. When I started this book, I was thinking the same thing; it's so complicated with too many options and too many moving parts. Why? WHY??? As an adult who's married with kids you're told you need life insurance but I'm not a mathematician or an engineer and sales people make me nervous because I don't know their intentions--make some green or truly help. So, I'm stuck and I was hoping this book would be the answer. It wasn't but that's not because of the writing or the book's quality. It's because life insurance sucks. Period. End of story. Be prepared when you pick up this book; it'll hurt your brain.

A bit dated by now, but still a good resource for beginners. Just be sure to check up with the state resources for the latest information.

This is great if you have zero insurance knowledge. However, me being in the medical industry this didn’t teach me anything new!

Very comprehensive guide on life insurance and how it is related to personal taxes, retirement plans, estate planning, trusts etc. Very easy to understand, not only for those with financial education. The book gives a lot of options and a breakdown on what’s best for different people.

This book would be best for someone looking for a life insurance but wants to weigh in their options and perhaps make their choice on their own before going to an insurance company.

The end of the book has contacts for all state insurance departments and a glossary if the majority of life insurance terms for reader’s reference.

All in all a great easy to understand guide.

Thank you, Goodreads Giveaways, for providing me with this great e-book!

I won this copy from Goodreads Giveaways; thank you so much!

This is a book that all young adults need in their arsenal; for some reason, they do not.

I was ecstatic when I won a copy of this book to share the knowledge with my four young adult children. This way, they would be prepared for life, especially while they are young and healthy. Healthwise, you never know what can happen or what can happen further down the road expense-wise,expense-wise plan for your children.

I had only heard good reviews about this book before receiving it; once reading it, I must agree.

Thank you again, Goodreads Giveaways.

Taking the time to research and read reviews is a good way to find more about the reliability and reputation of different insurance providers. After all, life insurance is an investment in your future and your family's financial security. For instance, contact california fair plan association customer service. By thoroughly reviewing your options and understanding the terms and coverage offered, you can make a decision that aligns with your needs and priorities.

Explains insurance better as a general subject for someone who knows little. But it contains outdated material, so was pointless to me

When my husband and I were first looking for life insurance, we found that we really didn't understand what all we were paying for. The sales person "explained" everything to us, but did it in a way so that we still didn't really understand what we were buying. When I received this book from the Goodreads contest I found that I was able to answer a lot of my questions that I hadn't been sure about. The book is very informative and helpful for those of us who do not speak "insurance language". The only issue I had with the book was that it was a little long. If I was in a book store looking for a book on life insurance, this is probably not one I would purchase just because of the fact that it looks very lengthy and complicated. But since I won the book I took the time to read through it and found it to be quite helpful.

Thanks for the book!

Packed with information in question and answer form, has more information than most laypersons would ever care to have and provides a little here and there that an experienced agent might find useful. The newer life insurance agent is likely to be the one most to benefit from this book. All the information can be found elsewhere, and to me the books seems often to be a mere relisting of other's lists. Yet it is hard to find this information so readily accessable under one cover. I will keep this a a reference.

Good reference material for those interested in learning about their life insurance policies or looking at buying one. Only drawback is the authors viewpoint tends to favor different areas rather than objectively offering different viewpoints.
