Webster the stork is proud of his work delivering animal babies. But when he crashes into a hot-air balloon, something goes wrong. Soon the bats get a moose and two tiny frog parents receive an enormous newborn elephant!
It's loads of wacky fun when a befuddled stork delivers the wrong babies to what turns out to be exactly the right parents. I loved this sweet and adorable book.
Webster the Stork bumps into a hot air balloon while flying and the hit knocks his brain out of whack. Now he's delivering the wrong animal babies to new parents: an elephant to frogs, a pig to sparrows, a chicken to sharks, and more. There's doubt about the new offspring at first "but the parents adored them because they were theirs!" The birds teach their pig to fly with balloons and the sharks help their chicken swim with goggles. A lightning strike puts Webster's brain to rights and he attempts to correct his mistakes. But he sees that the families he's made are each loved and treasured. Useful for adoption and mixed families.
When a stork is messed up in a storm, all the animals expecting babies get big surprises! The sharks get a baby chick, the sparrows get a piglet, and the frogs get a baby hippo! When the stork later realizes his mistake he sets of to make things right, only to realize that the parents all love their "babies" and that the mixed up families he created are perfect just the way they are! A great story about adoption presented in a completely non-threatening way.
An okay story about a stork who runs into a hot air balloon, scrambling his noggin. He then mixes which baby goes with which family. An elephant baby ends up with frogs, a piglet ends up with some sparrows, and so forth. In the end when he's hit by lightening and his mind is returned to normal. He wants to set out to fix all the mixed up families that he's made, but then he realizes that the parents love their babies, just they way they are.
