This book includes 150 stitches, with instructions for turning corners on edgings.

What I like:
There is a large, well lit photograph of each stitch in vibrant, colored yarn(s). (This booklet is fun to flip through!) The book includes a great range of stitch designs for borders, many of which you are unlikely to have in other stitch guides. The special stitches are described within the pattern so you don't have to do a lot of flipping to the back of the book. Each stitch includes both pattern ab

I took up crochet a few months back and have been enjoying it. I have started to make some squares for a blanket, so this book arrived in perfect time, as I will eventually need to pick a border for it. There is a broad range of options in Around the Corner Crochet Borders. Some of the designs I liked, some I didn't. Some looked easy, others harder. But all in all, there should be something here to suit every crocheter and every occasion. Each option was nicely presented, with a photo, written i ...more

Great book on crochet edgings

Each border motif is well illustrated, along with detailed instructions and corner stitches. Very satisfied with the border patterns. Some more suited for intermediate or advanced crochet.

Let me start off by saying I am an Edit Eckman fan, and this book delivers as usual.

This is not a pattern book, it's a crochet resource book for edgings. There are a ton of border ideas here, and it's very easy to customize the borders still more. They are all charted, which is always a plus, and include directions for making edgings on straight items - like the edging on a cardigan - or going around corners, like on an afghan. I love the fact that there are both lacey & textured borders.

OK... so I am a knotty girl and I spend alot of time with my crobchet hook. I am self taught by watching u tube and experimenting. I found this book about creating decoative borders and I have bee teaching myself how to read patterns. It is not as hard as I thought it would be because this book is VERY clear. I love how the authors approached the 150 edgings with both charts and detailed instructions. I have begun to create edges of my own aside from the ones outlined! Loving this book!

Amazing reference book for crochet borders, specifically those borders that need to turn a corner. With prolific colorful photos, this well designed and organized book makes it easy to figure out what borders may work for you—also sparks ideas for how you can make a teeny change in the pattern to create something totally new. Edie Eckman's crochet books are always a great reference and this one should also make it onto your library shelf. Wonderful! ...more

Including the instructions for going around the corner was a brilliant idea. Add to that the fact that so many of theses borders are just lovely and you have a keeper. I just finished a baby afghan using one of the borders from the book. It was easy to adapt and crochet. I recommend this book if you're looking for new ideas for crochet borders. ...more

Though I lack a sense of fun improvisation, like the edgings you can see In the Japanese Ondori crochet books, this book is great. Good pictures, good copy and it's cool that there are projects based on stitches for edging in the final part of the book. Great reference book, but don't expect to be surprised... ...more

The borders range from easy to more complicated. Each pattern is spelled out, and a chart is provided. With my kindle, the chart could not be enlarged so some might be hard to see well.
The patterns are quite pretty. There are lots of tips and pointers. Definitely impressed with this book.

An amazing resource book for crocheters. This book helps give afghans a professional finish. What is important that many books neglect is how to crochet the corner. This book gives excellent instructions, visual diagrams and clear pictures that are simple to follow.

This is an awesome reference book. There are some stunning borders that can be used in a granny square afghan or as trim on a shawl or garment. All are well photographed and easy to understand. A must have for any crocheter.
