A heartwarming tale of the friendship between a lonely old man and a needy young boy. The ending made me kind of sad, but it was realistic, which I can appreciate!

Such a wonderful heartwarming short story. Great chapter book for young readers. Loved the generational connection.

An enjoyable, quick read for our book club. I'm also reading it out loud to my children and seeing it through their eyes adds a new dimension to it. I love the relationship between Benjamin & Jon. I loved the idealistic camping out and living off the land life. It also made me realize how giving up of one's freedom when "old" age sets in can be quite tough.
