This is a good book about how baseball managers use math to make decisions on who will play and who won't. This is a high interest for boys since it is about baseball. I would use this book when finishing up our probability section. The students could read the book together in a group (especially pages 22-27) and work on the problems in the book. They could come up with their own senerio and have their classmates chose whether they would use the player. Good text to world book.

Great for demonstrating real-world applications for students who ask, "Why do we need to know this?"
