Contains: Bar Graphs, tables, Statistics, decimals. multiplication, division, addition, word problems, percent, and probability. This is a good book about how baseball managers use math to make decisions on who will play and who won't. This is a high interest for boys since it is about baseball.
I would use this book when finishing up our probability section. The students could read the book together in a group (especially pages 22-27) and work on the problems in the book. They could come up with their own senerio and have their classmates chose whether they would use the player. Good text to world book.

Being a baseball manager might seem like a simple job, but there is more to it than you think. Math is a big part of their job. They use it to decide if someone should pitch or bat. Math is also important when they are looking at opposing teams. To find out more about how baseball managers use math, you definitely want to read this book.
