Some decent ideas but terribly stilted at times. Probably not the best jump on point if you've never read any of the previous stories

There was definitely prior knowledge of characters and events needed in this world before picking up this volume. Thankfully Michael and context clues were able to fill in some of what I was missing. But it was really difficult to connect with the characters because a lot of their personalities did not shine through in this, it was mostly focused on the plot which made me care a lot less about what was going on.

The only characters I liked or was able to connect with were Voodoo and Grifter. They were interesting but you learn almost nothing about them in this particular story.

Just difficult to keep up with without prior knowledge. A lot of banter from characters who’ve clearly been through a lot before this issue. Even if I read what comes before this, I think I’d only enjoy it if I was already a fan.

This is part of the big relaunch of some of Wildstorm's more memorable titles. Wildcats was one of the better titles, though never quite lived up to the early promise. Most of the old favourites are here including Grifter and his weird but cool mask. The post apocalypse scenario actually gives the cats a decent canvas and purpose. Not bad.
