I don't even know how to explain the disappointment I'm feeling right now. Like I legitimately cannot wrap my head around how this book turned out like this- I AM SHOCKED 😭😭. It's the way I was so excited as well.
Not me dropping everything to read this lmfao. Funny.
Anyways let's begin 😍:
It's hard to believe that this book was a continuation of the character's stories that I grew to love.
I think the fact that I recently re-read the first two books in the series, in preparation for this book, did not do this one any justice- and really just put into perspective how different it was- and how much better the first two were, for me.
Because I'm genuinely not joking, this one held NOTHING, over the first book- and it's hard to think that these were the same characters that I was obsessed with (which sucks to say).
-=- The plot/ story -=-
I can't even begin to explain how much happened in this book. The storyline was just constantly changing, where new plot twists kept being added, for no apparent reason??
A lot of the reveals felt really self-explanatory, and obvious- but were written as if you were trying to get spoon-fed 😭. There was no need for all the repetition 💀.
I couldn't see where this story was going, and it just felt as if different plot points were added for the sake of including everything that came into GL's mind. It just did not flow well for me.
The reveals in this one were somehow more unexplained and random than they were in the second book which is honestly kind of impressive Icel 💀.
There were so many inconsistencies throughout the story, where a number of different plot points and certain character arcs were just forgotten about, or written off. It was so frustrating 😐🤞💕.
-=- The writing -=-
The writing in this one just felt really compulsive? There was genuinely no information to back any of the reveals up, and they were stated in such an obvious way. I couldn't understand the need to have a dramatic reveal at the end of every single chapter- it was exhausting 😭.
The way that this story progressed just felt so off- there wasn't really a consistent development to both the main romance, and main storyline (because trust me there were many). I felt like this book really lacked that certain appeal, that the first book had in particular.
I started skimming so much towards the end, because so much of what was happening just didn't feel relevant to the story, or was just the character's situation being repeated over and over again. I wasn't a big fan of the writing.
To be completely honest, I can't even remember a lot of what happened in the story- which says a lot considering I just finished it 😭. That ending really took an unexpected turn.
-=- The Characters -=-
It's the way that I don't even have much to say about Thea and Julian, and the development of their characters, and relationship. I didn't really like Thea in this one, and felt as if her and Julian didn't get enough time together? I was expecting so much more from them, but was let down by how much they regressed with their relationship. That ending was just 🤡🔫.
And THE MULTIPLE POVS 💀😭💀😭- just know I was tired. Listen, sometimes, there are some great side characters. But they should really just stay side characters 😭😭. So much of the book was spent not only on unnecessary drama, but on other characters (that weren't the MCs), and the progression of their individual lives, which I quite frankly did not care about 😭.
I feel like it really took away from the main story at hand, and just brought in a lot of different factors to the book, that made the book feel really busy. It really took away from the simplicity of the story that made the prior books work so well.
Any time that things started to get good between the MCs, they would just get interrupted- and then you immediately switch to something that didn't exactly relate to them. It really felt like there wasn't an end goal in mind when reading this.
I wanted so much more from Julian and Thea.
-=- My conclusion -=-
I think I'm going to take a lil break after this one 💀
It sucks to write a negative review for a book you've been anticipating, ever since it was announced, so just know this was painful.
I genuinely couldn't understand or liked the ending of the book, and was ultimately disappointed with how it turned out. Don't get me wrong, there were still nice moments to this, but I felt like overall, the bad really, really overshadowed the good.
I'll most likely still read the next one- just for closure 😭- however I'll go into it with a big, big grain of salt, and way less enthusiasm 🧍♀️.
Alright, I'm done 😔.
-=- Before reading -=-
(in case you wanted to see my excitement for this book- I kept in my notes before the book came out lmfao 💀💀💀💀):
OMFGGG THIS IS NOT A FUCKING DRILL- YALL I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO REACT HFISFBGB I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED.
IM DOING SUMMERSAULTS, THROWING UP, CRYING- I CANT. I have been waiting for this moment, for SO LONG- this just made my day you don't understand 😭😭😭.
I had the random urge to check up on this series after zero signs of life 💀- and she's going to be here NEXT. WEEK.
Thea and Julian- I can't wait 😭💕💕. Time for a re-read I guess 🙄🙄☝️☝️.
What to Expect: ➼ Nonsensical Plot Twists ➼ Poorly Explained Magic System ➼ Mate Bond ➼ Paranormal Romance ➼ Secrets ➼ Multiple POV’s
Y’all… What. The. Hell. Was. That?! Is the author paying people for positive reviews? Because there is NO WAY this over complicated nonsense deserves a rating this high. 🙅🏼♀️🤯
The first part was boring as heck, but at least it felt like a continuation of the same series. About a third of the way in, Thea does something rash and stupid AGAIN which puts her in danger and screws everything up (obviously). This was annoying, but it felt on brand for her and lined up with her actions from previous books. From that point on, the plot made literally no sense. The second half of the book seriously felt like a fever dream. There is no rhyme or reason to the magic system at this point. The author pulled twist after twist straight out of her ass and apparently felt no need to explain ANYTHING. Seriously what?! I need answers Geneva!
And another thing… if Willem and Camila are both alive, why are they not still tethered? Can someone please explain this to me?? Did one of them die and get resurrected? How am I supposed to believe the tether is such a big deal when they’re both just bopping around doing their own thing.
Ugh… this series started out so fun and the author totally tanked it. Duh… I have to read the final book, but I’m v grumpy about it.
✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼ ҉ ✼
Pre-read: 3 stars is probably all I can hope for with this one, but I couldn’t stop myself from reading it if I tried. 🪤🪤😅
This last in a trilogy, continued to be just as riveting as the previous book… Until Thea suddenly and out of nowhere makes the stupidest and most out of character decision (plot turn) I have read in a long time. It made absolutely NO sense! And… Everything went downhill from there. So many small plot holes that were never explained, weren’t even understandable or were left hanging that I couldn’t enjoy the rest of the book. It felt like the author was just wildly making stuff up as she rushed to get to the end - never taking the time to make sure the reader understood the thinking, the reasons or even the story!
Three Queens felt a little rushed compared to the first two books, and a lot less put together. I'm really enjoying the story, but I feel like its being dragged out, the smut was repetitive and it was a bit predicable based off the title of the book (v disappointed).

The Hero:Thea Melbourne - she is a musician who recently graduated from college. She always thought she was a normal human, but after meeting and falling in love with one of the wealthiest vampires, Julian Rousseaux, she discovered that she is more than just a human. She is able to read Julian’s mind, and they can talk to each other in their minds. They have bonded as mates and are now tethered to each other.
The heroine:Julian Rousseaux - He is the eldest marriageable child in one of the oldest and influential vampire families in existence. He is required to marry a witch this season, as a way to keep the vampire and witch magic together and produce heirs. However, he fell in love with Thea, whom he thought to be a human. Now that they know Thea has her own magic, they are going through the rites and trying to be together even though his mother and the council are doing everything possible to keep them apart.
The Story: The last book held a bunch of revelations, but like any decent story, they only raised more questions. It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, though not a huge one and though I liked the story, I think I am not going to read the last book. I liked where this one ended. The two main characters are now engaged and plan to stay together no matter what the council decides. So much happens in this book and they end up in a much different place than they expected. I liked the fact that there were some big surprises in this book and I never knew what would happen next.
This audiobook is in dual points of view and narrated in dual narration. Stella Hunter and Teddy Hamilton did the narration. They are two of my favorite narrators. Stella hunter has a great voice and never sounds like she is reading. Teddy hamilton has a deep, gravelly voice and is also very natural sounding. They do a terrific job.
I finished this and started the next one right away... so it's not all bad. This one was very weird to me. It was trying to pull off plot twists but it was just WTF moments that didn't really belong. This whole book could have been skipped. I guess it was trying to shock the reader but I was over all the dumb dumbs being extremely dumb.
The third book in the series was very different from the rest. There was a lot of fluff (some cute and some just straight up not needed) and it dragged on in parts. Still loved it and love the series though. The whole kidnapping and twist that comes with it was exciting. I will be reading the next book.
Book 1 and 2 were really great and I devoured them both in a day. I couldn't wait to read book 3...but I ended up struggling with half of the storyline.
Spoiler!
Mid way through Thea does something frustratingly stupid. And the story kinda gets boring and confusing because of that decision. Another body separate to the council is introduce and its whole background is confusing. Then we find out why the mother in law hates Thea and its kind of underwhelming. I ended up skipping a few chapters and didn't feel like I missed anything important.
This is so truly disappointing like it just went completely off the rails. I hate when the 2 characters in a romance spend the bulk of it apart for no reason. On top of that i skimmed like the last 30% because it just got so completely off the rails. Too many other characters were getting their plotlines in and it got too clogged and messy.
This is going to be a mostly negative review. But let's start with the positive. I always thought there were more ways to create a succubus and honestly I love this concept. That was honestly the highlight of this dragged-out series. I do like that it was MULTI POV however, it didn't create any insight that was shocking or gave any added depth to the story.
There really doesn't need to be a fourth book. The whole Holiday parts could have been cut out. I really don't know what it added other than unneeded fluff.
For someone to have a tether bond and be able to have some empathic abilities this couple is really stupid. One is pushy, and the other one has the mindset of a child at times, and now it's just annoying.
I will say what no one probably would say and that this book feels like TWILIGHT FAN FIC. So the character development fell flat. Julian was already questioning if he should or shouldn't marry her less than 70 pages into the book. Why? Then he gets all but her and petty because she doesn't want to be a vampire?
If we could have gone straight to the kidnap and jumped on the plan then this book would have been good. Whatever happens in the next book should have happened in this book. Honestly, this could have been 250 pages.
I'm just disappointed and it was a bitch to finish. I had to skip to the good parts.

2.5 ⭐️ Well this was a little disappointing? Honestly the plot turned into a total fever dream in the last half of the book.
Almost felt like the author tried to think of the most insane plot twists which just didn’t land well or make that much sense?! Also the character development and stories from the first two books got totally ruined 🙃
Such a shame as loved the first two books, but don’t think I’ll be in any rush to read the last one 😂
I don't know what it is about this series that just floods me with feelings of nostalgia. Possibly it's the similarities to that of twilight and 50 shades of grey with the unbreakable love connections, heart aching plot twists and happy triumphs that have you squealing! All i know is - I need to start book 4! Now!
SHES SO STUPID. THREE BOOKS WORTH OF SHEER STUPIDITY. JE PEUX PLUS. SHE HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY MAGIC OR FIGHTING SKILLS WHY IS SHE CONSTANTLY ANNOYED ANYTIME JULIAN TRIES TO DEFEND HER????? YOUR WITTY COMEBACKS ARENT GONNA PROTECT YOU AGAINST 1000 YEAR OLD VAMPIRES WITH SUPER SPEED, STRENGTH, FANGS, AND COMPULSION U DUMB BITCH. You’d think oh maybe she knows self defense at least so maybe she stands a chance! HA NOPE NOT EVEN.
ok im calm. Oh wait lol. no im not. WHY ARE THERE 2 NEW POVS???? DO U UNDERSTAND THE ZA TRAUMA THIS ACTIVATED??? RHYSANDER OR ETV HIS NAME IS IS SO IRRELEVANT BRO WTF AND WHY IS JACQUELINE GETTING POVS BRO IDC ABOUT HER LOVE STORY BRO GTFO. this wouldn’t have been that deep had I not been able to tell this is foreshadowing for even more povs in the last book. IVE BEEN DOWN THIS ROAD ONCE. SHAME ON YOU.
Camila and Jacqueline took me surprise ngl.
The fact that he keeps withholding info here and there is annoying and how irrational her responses are makes me not root for her either. The fact that the mom’s just casually been missing for 2 books now and it’s literally a subplot at this point 😀
And idk it feels like the author decided on a new direction for the series halfway through this book like who are these random queens that have never been mentioned and now Julian used to be a big killer back in the days like where is all of this coming from. And the underworld??? WHAT ARE WE DOING
(***This line is a spoiler) No honestly Thea IS SO stupid what is this master plan of just taking off with no backup and going to confront a deadly society and demand your mother back bro I just can’t with this shit no more. Bro one snap of your neck and you’re out.
But… I’ve made it so far… and there’s only one book left… 🫣
Lot of extra quotation marks randomly. A few wrong you’re/your’s. Needs a little better of an edit, the previous books did not have as many obvious typos/errors.
I’m still in on this story and really enjoy this series. Definitely worth reading as far as KU vampire series go! But holy fuuuckkkk the ending of this book made no sense. Here’s hoping for clarity in the next.
Omg this book. This one was very different than the first two, just an FYI. However, I wanted to speed it to 7.0 so I could get to where I needed to be. 4th book HERE I COME!
Hmmm, I'm halfway through thus & I'm losing interest in it. Thea is kind of getting annoying w/all her back & forth. & ho the hell issues a duel to the head of the family w/out not knowing exactly what a freaking duel means? It's very common knowledge that it is always a duel to the death, esp, w/paranormal beings. I hated her not knowing that but going into believing blindly that it was just some little challenge that she could get through just by being mortal. As for the other stuff, it's okay, but her back & forth about being turned was also kind of annoying. Waht did she expect w/a bond lime the one she has w/a vamp, that she'd stay w/him for a few years, drop dead, & go on her merry way w/out realizing how it would effect a vampire that lives forever? Those two traits of hers is what's really bringing the book down for me.
Oh, yeah, not a fan of how they treated Jacqueline here either, unless she has her own series coming up after thus, which I then would be interested in seeing. But if it's shown in the as story, I think it's not really warranted honeslty. Just kind of reminds me of lateness from the hunger games & it comes off as tacky
Okay, what the ever living hell?
Once Thea was stupid enough to go gallivanting to Venice to see her mom, because they had stupid dinner plans, even thought they were currently fighting, and even though her mom knows about her & has been shielding her all this time, Thea’s like “yes, Jacqueline, take me away on a secrete plane w/out telling anyone, go across the worl to a diff country just to fight with your mom while knowing a literal war is brewing, on top of not knowing everything about yourself while your mate knows more about it & you, and make everything that much worse by getting yourself kidnapped by the idiot whose starting the war! Good move there, dumbass. Needless to say, since she made that moronic decision, I basically checked out completely from this book/series. Cannot believe you had the main character act that stupid. Could have dad the same effect had you had her kidnapped while they were all trying to gather intel, but noooo, you attempted to make this girl badass & it failed. She just came off as a pure idiot whose never lived a day in life. Ugh
As for everything else, drake being her dad/sire was meh. I did check out of the book, but when she lost her memories from dying to be placed on the throne or whatnot, that irked me too. I hate when they have characters lose their memories. It gets frustrating for me.
If I calm down by the time the next &last bk comes out, I’ll consider reading it just to see how they maneuver out of the crap storm Thea stupidly walked into, because again, what she did was freaking stupid.

Quick Summary: A supernatural life or death situation
My Review: Three Queens is book 3 in the Filthy Rich Vampires series by Geneva Lee.
About the Book: Nothing should have separated the noble vampire lord from his mate. They were meant to be together forever. When an evil ghost from the past suddenly comes back to life, everything that was to be changes in the blink of an eye. More enemies, more divisive schemes, and more agonizing drama are uncovered, as the immortal and his nonhuman partner (who just so happens to be linked to the gods) shake heaven and earth with their love.
My Final Say: This was Matthew and Diana, Edward and Bella, Alexander and Mina... It was an epic love story turned on its back by outside forces. It was darkness and light. It was prophecy and revelation. All hail the queen!
Other: I can barely contain my excitement about book 4. (Fist pump!!!) Oh, how the tables have turned.
Well, that was kinda disappointing. I can't decide on 2.5-3 stars. The ending, of course, leaves you waiting, hanging for more, which is first written as a Vella. But, her newsletter did say book 4 will be out, as a KU loaner, on 18 July. And, thankfully/sadly (I can't decide) it'll also be the conclusion to Julian and Thea's story.
My expectations might've been too high for this one, or it really was just a bit off from the previous two. Either way, I was left scratching my head at Thea's decision and frustrated with how the last quarter played out. We'll see how book 4 wraps things up.
Volturi*
4.5 stars. Ugh this book!! The addition of a few new POVs had me confused at times (downside of being an audio reader) but so much is happening! We got some much needed answers but now have even more questions! Also, have I mentioned how much I LOOVVVEEEEE Julian?! 🫠😍 I can’t wait for the audio to be out for book 4!
This book didn't feel as put together as the previous two. I mostly enjoyed the story, but it didn't flow as well as previous. I'm hoping this was a bump in the road and the next and final feels more cohesive to the story.
