This excellent book is a godsend for people who are dealing with cancer in their own or another lived ones life. This book provides a lot of information on cancer and then has a section on each type of cancer. Each section provides meaningful information in an understandable way on a description of each cancer plus how it develops, details on staging, current treatment options at each stage, along with estimates of 5 year survival. The book really packs a lot of information between the covers. I bought the first one when my dad was going through cancer and found the book so helpful that I bought two additional copies for my local library (one to lend and one to be kept in the research area). I have bought updated copies for the library as well to help other people. It's nice to know that it's always there if I need it for myself or a friend.

The first half of the book explains cancer. The second half Is really an index. Alphabetized by disease, it gives you stages and expectations about particular cancers. Very useful.
