This reader uses primary sources to illuminate the intellectual, political, and cultural history of Europe from 1900 to the present. Each part, chapter, and section contains an introduction that explains the historical setting and significance of the readings within.
The thing I liked about this book was the variety of perspectives. There are snippets of different sources, and I especially enjoyed that I got to hear different voices, different POVs, and different stories from other countries.
My favourite parts were learning about the female teenage Russian cross-dressing soldiers and Margaret Thatcher. Iconic heroes.
