I just love visiting in Mule Hollow. This book let us have a short visit with Samantha the donkey, what a creative character that mule is.

There will be 2 more books following this one and I can't wait to read them.

I enjoy the series that go on like this with characters you feel you know from all the previous books.

Dry Creek Series by Janet Tronstad is the same way.

Book 2 begins a few months after Seth's story and features the youngest brother, Cole. We learn that Cole has lost someone he loved deeply and is struggling with reconciling his loss with his prayers to God. He's in a similar situation many people find themselves - not understanding why God let them die. As a result, he has become a drifter - riding his motorcycle from one rescue site to another. He figures that even if his life is in chaos, he can at least help someone else who's experienced their own tragedy.

The book opens with Cole riding back home to Mule Hollow because his eldest brother, Wyatt, talked him into coming for a visit. However, as he nears home, he's almost run down by the new vet in town who's accidentally fallen asleep at the wheel! Scared that she's injured, his fear turns to anger when he realizes that she's worked herself so hard that it almost cost her her life.

Susan Worth is fiercely independent and doesn't appreciate being told what to do! She works hard for her reputation, even if that involves late night emergencies. What she doesn't admit is that she struggles to allow anyone to get close to her heart, especially a guy who may ride off into the sunset and never look back.

What follows is a tender story of forgiveness, renewed faith, and realizing that God can use people who are dying just as much as anyone else, and that there might have been a reason he let them die. It's also a story of two lonely people finally realizing that they don't have to stay lonely. And, finally, it's encouragement to be like the townsfolk who didn't give up - who were honest about their feelings and intentions and let God handle the rest.

Language - PG / clean
Romance - PG / kissing
Violence - truck runs off road, character has a close call with a horse,

The story of Cole, the youngest brother of the Turner family is very different from the one of Seth. His story is more heart breaking. Susan is one of those stubborn women who is determined to make it in a man’s profession. But like Seth’s story, you still have a stubborn and confident woman who does not need a man telling her what to do.

Susan is the Veterinarian that lives in Ranger but also covers Mule Hollow. Due to the fact that she loves working with large animals more small ones and she has decided it is time to settle down and have a family, she is making a move to Mule Hollow. What she doesn’t realize when she almost kills herself and Cole coming home late one night after falling asleep at the wheel, is that he just might be worth her love.

Cole is one very complicated man, he lost his first love and dedicated himself to helping others that lost their homes to natural disasters. He is tricked into coming home because his brothers feel that they know what is best for him. Wyatt used an excuse to convince him to come home to Mule Hollow. When Cole decides that it is time to leave, Seth tries to keep him there.

I totally enjoyed this story, is shows how grief can consume a person but not cause them to be self-destructive. It is a story full of hope and can be a real tear jerker toward the end.

I can relate to Susan's feeling of having to "prove" herself to the male ranchers, but I also agree that she takes risks she might not have to while doing it. I could picture the scene with the donkey and dog trying to save Susan from the pregnant mare and though it was a serious scene, it made me smile.

I liked that they tried to learn life lessons from the tragedies of losing people you loved.

Otherwise, the plot seemed the fairly standard boy meets girl/girl meets boy and they both feel attraction for each other but feel they can't love each other because of some flaw in themselves or in the other person.

I did not read the book about Seth and Melody (I'm assuming there is one) so I was a bit surprised to see this book is #1 in the Men of Mule Hollow Series. I'm guessing that was done to open up the series to more books than what the 3 brothers from the Turner Ranch would allow.

I liked the beginning of this story where Susan fell asleep at the wheel and drove her truck right into the ditch right in front of Cole. His reaction made Susan hate him and started the story off on the wrong foot. Of course when Susan ran into trouble again a short time later and Cole again was there to rescue her was again one that caused Susan to get mad at his attitude and sent him on his way. But when Cole started to work on Susan’s clinic got Susan to thinking about her true feelings and got Cole to think about his as well. The church picnic also added to their feelings for each other. There was drama throughout this story and the culmination was the finale where the both confessed their love for each other and it lead to their planning for their wedding. Of course this led to the happily ever after a of this story. I would recommend this story to everyone. I received a free copy of this book but am leaving this review of my own free will

I purchase a copy of the novel Rescue ME, COWBOY: Enhanced Edition (Turner Creek Ranch Book 2)aka Her Forever Cowboy/Texas Matchmakers by Debra Clopton and this review was given freely.
Debra Clopton includes ironic humor in this opposites attract, second chance at love romance featuring a protective Alpha playboy who loves wanders to try to avoid the grief of moving on after the death of his first love and an overworked vet who longs for both a family and stability. Cole takes a break from rescue and relief missions to visit his brother Seth and his new wife Melody but gets more than he bargained for when his oldest brother Wyatt and the town's matchmakers set him up with the outspoken and work driven local vet Susan who almost hit him in a head on collision.

Second Time Around

Cole Turner has been on the run for years. He lost the love of his life and has never wanted to experience it again.

Susan Worth has been building her career as the local vet and yet, she knows it is time to slow down. This is evident as she falls asleep at the wheel and almost takes out a man on a motorcycle. Of course, it is Cole Turner! Mortified, she just wants to leave but he is in the process of taking her keys.

Susan and Cole are determined not to fall for each other. He is leaving and she is too independent to deal with him. What will happen as they spend more time together? ~

After losing his first love to death, Cole takes off on his motorcycle and goes to places that have been hit with destruction and helps them rebuild. He is running away from his pain. His brothers want him to come home and help run the farm. On his way home for a visit he is run off the road by the local vet who has been up all night tending to animals.
Susan loves her profession but she is ignoring her health. It's 2 am and her third night up late tending emergencies. She falls asleep at the wheel and almost collides with a motorcycle. Sparks fly as he reprimands her for her lack of good sense and she highly resents it.
This is one book you'll want to read.

If you like to read romance novels that include humor, quirky animals, and recurring characters, then you will want to read this series. I love when I have a laugh out loud moment when reading a book. This is the second book in the series and I was glad to see that Susan, the local veterinarian, was one of the main characters. I could hardly stand to put the book down once I started reading and am looking forward to see what Seth and Cole have in store for their brother Wyatt in the next book.

Rescue Me, Cowboy is the second book in the Turner Creek Ranch series. Susan is a workaholic, a vet that is putting her patients before her health, sleep, and love. One night, she almost runs down Cole as she falls asleep driving. Cole is the cowboy who traded his horses for his motorcycle and left town. With others assisting in matchmaking, they are bound to be thrown together often. Will they find something in each other that completes them? I really enjoyed this story. Definitely one not to miss.

So Enjoyed

This is the second book that has brought a Turner brother to finding love and happiness. Cole lost his first love to cancer and has been running ever since. He came home for his brothers a wedding, but now he's back because his brother Wyatt wanted to get all together. Sandra was moving her get clinic from Ranger to Mule Hallow when her contractor bails. Cole to the rescue but will it be more.

Love this Turner series with all the honorable Turner men! Cole is no exception, using his life to help others and offering the pretty Doc (vet) help allows him to get to know her to see what is behind her drive to prove herself. In getting to know each other, both Cole and Susan heal from their past. I look forward to reading about Wyatt, the mysterious, match-making oldest brother!

Rescue Me Cowboy

Another great book in the series about Turner Creek and its inhabitants. The vet is a woman who is very determined to do everything her way and pulls no bones about it to anyone who listens. Cole is the middle Turner brother who everyone is trying to find a woman for him to love. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill

This by no means was a "bad" book, but due to the intense religious references (yes, I know, it's an *inspired* romance), I found myself slowly fading from the plot. There were a lot of moments where I found Susan to just be whiny and annoying and Cole to be broken record but the story was a little cute. Due to certain preferences, I cannot see myself wanting to read this again.

I read almost everything that Debra Clopton writes because she provides good stories that I can read in a short time period to escape from the stress of daily life. While this isn't as good as other books the author has written, it did keep my interest.

Heartwarming

This was a sweet, clean romance between two headstrong individuals who had no intention of falling for one another. A story of faith, family, love, and being there for those you care about.

Enjoyable read

Cole doesn’t stand a chance, what with his older brother and the matchmakers, determined to get him and Susan together. Mule Hollow sounds like a lovely place to live.

This was my second book of the Turner Creek Series.

Debra Copton doesn't fail to disappoint. I thought I could predict this book, but I was very wrong.

I do love these feel good, good clean romances.

This book dealt with the need to be in control and getting over the loss of a loved one.

This book took me a few days to read as it was a easy read and couldn't put it down.

OK, so even I have to admit the title to this book is very cheesy. It’s been in my TBR pile FOREVER, so I had to finally give in and read the darn thing. Turns out that this book was quite a refreshing little story. First off, it’s inspirational romance, which means there is a strong God/religious element throughout the story. I’ll admit it’s not my thing to normally read books that broach on any religious subjects, but I gave this one a shot. I think this story worked because the time and place of the story made the religious component make sense. It didn’t seem contrived, but rather genuine with the characters in the story.

One of the things that I really liked about the story is the fact that the heroine was a strong, independent, and well-educated woman. She was no wallflower, and not only that, the hero had to learn to deal with that first before anything could happen in their relationship.

It’s a quick, well-written story, but I’ll probably pass on the inspirational stuff in the future. Really not my thing, but always good to find new authors like Debra Clopton.

I had read several of the first series about Mule Hollow and this one fits right in. Susan is a vet and she's burning the candle at both ends. When she an Cole get together it is because she almost ran him off the road. With her truck wrecked, Cole takes her home on his motorcycle and she is not happy with that. They didn't get off on a good start.

Susan Worth is a hard working Vet. As Vet she puts her patients before herself. This leading into her not sleeping, find love, and so on.

Then when a Cowboy ( Cole Turner ) came back to town, little did she know her life would change forever.

The book wouldn't have been so bad except the hero remained a chauvinistic, nosey, stubborn SOB the whole book. He kept trying to butt into the woman's business, and she finally just accepted it as "proof" that he cared about her (*bullshit*).
