Hugely interesting. McCarthy would have been even more of a problem if the protestant conservatives of his time were not so opposed to Catholicism. Weird! JFK was the only Democrat who didn't vote to censure him at the time, --fascinating trivia. Probably not because he sympathized so much with his views as he sympathized with his persecution by his supposed conservative allies who were protestant. Still, a dangerous self promoting nut at bottom.
