Living in the Shadow of the Ghosts of Grief: Step into the Light

Are you depressed? Anxious? Angry? Do you have trouble with trust and intimacy? Do you feel a lack of meaning and purpose in your life? You may be living in the shadow of the ghosts of grief.

When you suffer a loss of any kind—whether through abuse, divorce, job loss, the death of someone loved or other transitions, you naturally grieve inside. To heal your grief, you must express it. That is, you must mourn your grief. If you don't, you will carry your grief into your future, and it will undermine your happiness for the rest of your life.

This compassionate guide from one of North America's most beloved grief educators will help you learn to identify and mourn your carried grief so you can go on to live the joyful, whole life you deserve. Embrace your grief and step into the light.

So many takeaways: dosing grief in small waves, life losses are never 'fixed' or 'resolved' but only soothed & integrated into life experiences, traveling up the unending spiral of grief gives a different perspective each time, searching for meaning in losses is lifelong, mourning grief allows for living life congruently. A wonderful book written with great compassion!

started well...

The book starts by guiding the reader in recalling and mourning past losses, with some specific tools for doing so. The rest of the book repeats or restates vague and idealistic points about how mourning those past losses will change your life.

Grief is a natural part of life and experienced for all types of losses not just the death of a loved one or friend. This book is for those who carry these losses with them instead of dealing with them in a healthy way. This book is inspiring and simple enough to understand and embrace.

Encouraging and inspirational book regarding the dealing with the losses that we have carried through out our lives but never mourned.
