A thorough examination, benefitting from the passage of time and changes both in legal practices and social attitudes, to what is widely viewed as one of the British legal system's greatest miscarriages of justice. By the end one can only be left with the conviction that Derek Bentley was hanged as a 'discouragement' to society.
