Why Am I So Disorganised?: Sort out your stuff

Rate this book
Are you always late? Do you frequently lose your keys or important documents? Do you double-book appointments by mistake? Everyone does these things occasionally, but if disorganisation becomes a habit, you may find it hard to change your ways. While most organising books simply offer good tips for changing the symptoms of disorganisation, in WHY AM I SO DISORGANISED?, Dr Marilyn Paul helps you identify and transform the root causes by teaching you how to recognise habits of thought and action that contribute to disorder, and by motivating you to make changes that direct you to a more rewarding way of life. By combining practical 'how-to' tips (such as how to organise your paperwork) with a holistic and insightful approach in to the way you might want to live your life, Dr Marilyn Paul shows you a unique way to develop inner calm by constructively dealing with the disorder that surrounds you.

I have had this book gathering dust for a while. Having finally got to breaking point with regards to the chaos that is my life, I gave it a whirl. It's okay, it's motivational, but it could do with some more practical advice for people like me who like being told what to do!

I couldn't finish this book, thus the one star rating. And believe me, I tried. I don't exactly remember what I read in "Why Am I So Disorganised", but I think it was mainly concerned will very disorganized people who cannot see their work-space or desk, or the floor in their bedroom, because of all the mess. And I'm not that disorganized. Maybe that is why I didn't like it, because I felt like I wasn't getting much out of it.

Some interesting prompts to get people to delve deeper into what is important for them, but overall it just made me think "wrote, I'm obviously not THAT bad; look at THESE people"... so encouraging, but I don't think that was intentional!

I have no idea when I finished this book, and I've a feeling I didn't actually finish it. But it seems to have disappeared off my reading pile. It needs a re-read.

Some very useful concepts in here but a touch too esoteric to be truly helpful
