Let me start by saying, this is a terrible book for a child to read. Adults with a penchant for cynicism and offbeat humor, on the other hand, will find it grotesquely funny. The message is simple: 1) eat your sadness away, 2) the best way to find happiness and acceptance is through another person. If you're looking to groom tiny codependents with eating disorders, this is a great start!

Troubling, but beautiful illustrations of sadness and its ability to consume you whole. Love saves the day, naturally.
