Rate this book
Charlie Conti has just come into his inheritance. Young, rich, and alone in the world, he leaves his Manhattan home for Los Angeles, where he meets charismatic Ray Celador. Ray deals in drugs, women, and philosophy, and before long he’s indispensable to Charlie. But who, exactly, is Ray Celador—and what does he really want from Charlie? A thriller with a literary twist, this is the story of Charlie’s betrayal, of the theft of his identity, and of his attempt to recover what is his. I bought this book 18 months ago and put it away, I had soon lost interest. But being ill on the weekend, I dug it out and finished it in a day.

If you take traces of The Talented Mr Ripley and cross it with traces of Less Than Zero and On The Road, you get this book.

I found it a real page turner.

Brilliant. Just loved this, again just like the kind of books I think are the best things ever. Like 'My Friend Jesus Christ' I will definitely be looking up this author.
