Good but way too short. Only 64 pages, this is a short, sweet introduction to painting in plein air. A brief introduction to color is followed by techniques in painting trees, rocks, clouds, water and figures. Then 12 lessons describe such topics as composition, expressing mood, conveying time of day and distance, deciding what to paint, using negative space, and taking artistic license.
