I LOVED THIS BOOK. This booked talked about how to read and how to count. The kids want to go on a field trip, but they need to raise some money. So the kids have a car wash and save up some money to do this. The author talks about money and adding numbers together. They also have a bake sale. In the end they save up enough money to go and the children learned a lot from it.

Lots of adding and subtracting to keep readers on their toes.

Despite several setbacks, Miss Fox's class keeps trying to earn money for a field trip. Perseverance and teamwork are presented in a subtle but very effective way. Also, this book is a multi-step word math problem in and of itself. The animals are adorable and I especially liked their expressive faces and kid-like gestures. I am a fan of Eileen Spinelli and I really like this book. The class attempts to earn their trip through not only giving their own money, but also through various work projects. However, a number of blunders with multiple breakable objects leads the class to wonder if they have what it takes. A bonus is that with the various earning and subtraction to account for repairs to various broken things, there are plenty of opportunities for math lessons to come out of this title.

This would be a good book to use in an early economics unit. The endless steps in raising enough money to go to Roller Coaster Planet despite numerous setbacks would make for great mathematical discussion. Fun story to go with it.

This book tells a good story, while also incorporating math. This class is collecting money for a field trip. The make money, and then have many expenses. Therefore, you could use this book in a lesson on addition and subtraction. You could work out the math along with the book.

This is a cute book I would definitley read to my class. It shows how determination can lead to anything and how you have to work for what you want.

$60 in admission tickets for a whole class to an amusement park is a suspiciously good deal.

At least this book wasn't politically correct like the last one. Evalena loves the illustrations of all the animals.
