Today I purchased and downloaded a wonderful Art quilting eBook written by Gloria Loughman and published by C&T Publishing, INC.

The book is another perfect example of technology and beauty merging in a most convenient transaction.

I am so pleased with the diagrams and simple drawing instructions which can make a big impact when the adaption of shape and color with fabric is applied for an art quilt. The information of the techniques for seeing beyond what the eye beholds and casting the image in a pattern of curves and colors. I can hardly wait to get in my studio and try these techniques!

The different color wheels are wonderful examples to help when I am not sure of my use of pattern and color. I have a bit of color blindness when it comes to shades or gradations of colors such as reds, pinks, oranges…or greens and blues.

If you see the book, take a trip through the pages…either in a bound book in your hand or an ebook on your laptop/tablet. The quilts are fabulous!!

I have the book on my Pandigital tablet and the pages are displayed so crisp and clear.
Enjoy!

A readable and beautiful book about the art of making an art quilt. It has the best discussion and illustration of the use of the color wheel that I have ever seen. Patterns are included to go with the technique by technique discussion.
