An interesting read. As someone else said, it’s more about the characters around the race rather than the race. But from reading this, it does take quite an interesting person to want to take up sailing and I believe this let’s you into the head of such a person. It’s a quick read, like a stranger telling you a long story at the bar.

More a book about the colorful characters surrounding ocean sailing and maxi boats than the race itself. The writing style and attempts of humor feel a little outdated but keep in mind the book was written 40 years ago.
