A collection of the strangest, and most interesting true confessions posted to the popular Internet site DailyConfession.com offers a look at the things people are willing to reveal from the safety of complete anonymity.
I ordered this on a whim. I've never been to the website although I do plan on checking it out at some point. The thought just intriqued me I suppose. You have to wonder if the majority of these confessions are true or not but being that they are anonymous and there is really nor reason to make them up, along with the fact that all of the ones in this book could happen at any time, I'm going with the thinking that they are true. There may be one false one thrown in every once in awhile, someones idea of a joke, but for the most part, these things have happened to me, someone I know, someone who knows someone who knows someones cousin, you get the picture. It's very fast to read through even though it's almost 350 pages and each confession is put into a category like 'Stop, Thief!' or 'Liar, Liar!'. Greg Fox even included a chapter called 'The Kitchen Sink' for those hard to categorize confessions. While the confessions were awesome for the most part, I think what really gets my interest is the righteous a-holes who respond. I have a quote here on my GR page as follows: "The self-righteousness of the flawed is frightening." Think about that. Have you ever heard anything more true? This book and I'm assuming the website as well since these are taken directly from there, show that quote in all it's glory. You would think, from reading 92%-95% of these responses that the most perfect people in the world are frequenting dailyconfession.com. I don't know about anyone else but I highly doubt that. I definitely would hand this to anyone who likes the Post Secret books or snooping through other peoples medicine cabinets while in their bathroom.
Just came across this book again. It was amusing but taken in perspective years after the first time I read it many of the things, especially the comments seem a bit petty. In fact I would avoid reading the comments all together as they don't really add anything to otherwise interesting or amusing stories
