His work reminds me (and many others, apparently) of H. P. Lovecraft, but Smith is the better writer, in my opinion. But alas, Lovecraft will always be my favorite of the two. For the mention of giant penguins, for example.
Clark Ashton Smith was a poet, sculptor, painter and author of fantasy, horror and science fiction short stories. It is for these stories, and his literary friendship with H. P.
