Amazing and inspiring. Fun for adults too. I hope there are kids out there cool enough to do this stuff!

This colourfully illustrated book is full of great artsy ideas for children - or anyone - to do with what they find outdoors, or in the recycling. The sections for 57 projects are: Digging Deep; Going Green; It's All Elemental; Fertile Ground. Searching for great things to create things with is a great way to fill in time on outdoor days, to make things outside - and inside on the rainy ones. ...more

About 10 pages into this book I knew I had to actually OWN it...not just borrow it from the library. Unlike other outdoor craft books with re-used crafts, this book shows you the possibilities of introducing your child to nature in a way that makes them want to explore, get dirty, create and play. It has great craft ideas, many which I have not seen before.

It is a fun and easy read as well and includes many learning opportunities for young children (and you)!

random find at the library... I'm very excited about this--it looks terrific.

ETA: We did a few projects from this over the course of the summer, and enjoyed them all. I like the way this is organized and look forward to checking out the others in the series.
