I gave it a 5 stars for clear and concise representation of modern Chinese grammar. The book meticulously addressed some difficult aspects of Chinese, including ba and bèi constructions. A must-have for people who has an intermediate command over Mandarin, and want to dig deeper into the language structure. Not a recommendation for beginners.

Awesome book, it covers from how Mandarin speakers classify things, and correct usage of words that is not compatible with English. Highly informative book. Excellent for non-Mandarin speakers: beginner to advance.
