This is Volume XIV, the Atlas, published in 1970. It includes dozens of colored maps of the world. Includes a list of abbreviations and a subject index.
This is a reference book rather than something to read straight through, of course, but I learn something remarkable every time that I open it. There’s nothing like detailed historical maps to guide one’s understanding of human affairs!
I can only hope that we someday get an updated and expanded version, since this was published back in 1970.
Strongly recommend this volume to anyone interested in history. Find a used copy on eBay or AbeBooks and peruse when you would otherwise aimlessly browse on your phone!
