Decorating to Go

Rate this book
Decorating to Go presents a case for creating style in a home that will not be permanent...a sublet or rental, a "home away from home," such as an extended stay in another city or country, a college residence, on a military base, or in a transitional space, such as a first home.

I often complain that decorating books, while beautiful, are priced very high above the lifestyles of most of us. While this book's subtitle is "Easy ways to feather your temporary nest: Rentals, first homes, dorms, sublets," it was a joy to see the affordable, practical, real-life pictures and ideas.

This was a bit too short on text (so I'm glad I got it used for $7), but it is something I will definitely hang on to, for gorgeous room inspiration as well as helpful how-tos for a non-handy chick like me (like, what do you do with a hole in the wall that's much bigger than a nail?). Solid ideas and great photos!

Nice little idea book for those of us stuck with an 'IKEA-size' budget... Although I did find many of the pictures came directly from Ikea catalogues... Still... Nice accessible decorating book!
