I thought the book was pretty good and it gave a nice overview of American history, with the whole story grouped under different chapters that focused on a certain topic like racism and slavery or American identity. (I took an exam based on this book, and I passed.)

This was a difficult book to start due to the subject matter but towards the end it became more engaging.
