De roos en het zwijn was als jongere lang mijn favoriete boek, dus nu een andere Provoost opgepikt. Ik zit natuurlijk niet meer in de doelgroep, maar ik vrees dat ik te oud voor ben om dit boek echt te appreciëren.

this book really really goes hard. the main characters thinking process through out the whole book was exactly how a kid of that age wouldve been thinking and i love how precise that was... i bought this book from a used bookstore cause idk the book just looked cool and to my complete surprise it turned out to be this complicated, flawed, roller coaster of a book.

Voor haar debuut kiest Anne Provoost hier een onderwerp dat al moeilijk te benaderen is in de volwassen literatuur. Het kinderlijke, imperfecte perspectief maakt 'Mijn tante is een grindewal' echter een unieke leeservaring. Ik kan dan ook zeker inzien hoe dit boek deze thema's onder jongeren bespreekbaar maakt, ook al vind ik de grindewallen zelf niet al te interessant.

Ik herinner er niet zoveel van. Ik vond het niet te saai maar ook niet geweldig. Maar ik moest het lezen voor school opdat we een opdracht over een uitgekozen boek moestten doen en ik lees meestal een hoger leeftijdscategorie. Midden in was het meer interessant maar op het einde was het best voorspelbaar vond ik. Ik zou het in ieder geval niet aanraden.

L'inceste est un sujet encore fort tabou et difficile à aborder. Toutefois, l'autrice le rend de par son histoire accessible aux adolescents. C'était une histoire dure, bien entendu, mais elle permet de briser ce tabou le temps de quelques pages (ou plus...) !

Free Willy + inceste = Ma tante est un cachalot.
Sujet mal traité et irréaliste malheureusement.
Note importante à l'éditeur: j'ajouterais des numéros de téléphone ou site web de ressources pour victimes d'inceste/agression sexuelle à la fin du roman, question d'être responsable envers les jeunes lecteurs-lectrices.

Read this in one sitting because I just couldn’t but it down. Truly a masterpiece, it made me tear up many times.
Please be aware of the content before you read this - reading about to ongoing abuse relationship with a child was really hard for me but I’m glad I made it to the end of the book.
