From the Borscht Belt shtick of Rodney Dangerfield to the urbane wit of Jerry Seinfeld, Jewish humor has had an enormous influence on modern comedy. Jokes about doctors, jokes about food, jokes about mothers--101 classics are in this book, along with witty essays and charming cartoons by Joe Kohl. 101 Classic Jewish Jokes is a must for every fan of Jewish humor--and anyone who needs a good laugh.
Not good. The illustrations are awful; look at the cover. There were some grammar and spelling errors and not, like, Yiddish grammar or something, just mistakes. Some of the jokes were not particularly Jewish either. Just because a Jewish comic said the joke once... Like maybe some of Henny Youngman's schtick ... if he's playing to the Ed Sullivan show audience... that's not what I was looking for. The Big Book of Jewish Humor is much, much better, although I haven't finished it yet.
On the other hand, lots of classics are in here, so there are some laughs.
