Venom pulls off a breakout at The Vault, meta-human prison home to Marvel’s most murderous! The Avengers and Freedom Force team-up to put these bad guys back behind bars!
Daniel Fingeroth (/ˈfɪŋɡərɔːθ/) is an American comic book writer and editor, best known for a long stint as group editor of the Spider-Man books at Marvel Comics.
The most dangerous villains of the Marvel Universe break out of 'The Vault' - a prison designed to neutralize their powers. The Avengers arrive...KERRANG! KABLAM! KERPOW! A great "battle issue" that has many unusual fight match ups. Sometimes you just want to read something that is action packed and fast paced - here it is!
Ok, not as good as I'd hope. Not very good at all. Rather disappointing actually. Below the bar for a typically average comic. Why this was presented in the graphic novel format is puzzling. It would have been more appropriately a doubled sized (triple sized?) issue. In any case it was disappointing. Ridiculously predictable with unnecessary layers of plot that only detracted from the overall concept.
One of my favorite Avengers stories. It's amazing how much action is packed in this graphic novel, and the art work is phenomenal! A must read for any Avengers fans.
Part of Marvel's early nineties run of 'graphic novels' (it's only about the length of three regular issues). You can see why people brought to the form by Moore and Miller were not necessarily wowed by a costumed take on the standard prison riot thriller.
Pretty good graphic novel showcasing Spider-Man villain, Venom in the rare spot as an Avengers villain as he leads a breakout of many dangerous villains. Venom isn’t exactly a smart person. Nowhere even close to being as intelligent as Spider-Man, and yet it makes no difference. As powerful as he is it made no difference how much smarter The Avengers and other villains were that tried to usurped Venom as the mastermind. That’s what’s makes Venom such a scary villain overall to face off against. A good fun story to read.
