The North West Company vs. the Hudson Bay Company was the "Pepsi vs. Coke" of the northern frontier. Who knew that the fur trade ruffled so many feathers (so to speak)? I learned a lot from this book, but I can't say that it was well-written. 2.5 stars, really.
