Although the book's examples focus on business research, it served as my introductory book for statistics. I applied the concepts here in my degree, political science, and other quantitative social science researches. Black wrote this well. Even young students could use the book.
Even though the WileyPlus exercises and tables had a few errors, the book chapters and supporting case information was very well executed. Our professor used up to Chapter 14 but there is a lot of insightful data on operations management techniques and control charts that would be beneficial to learn gor those working in engineering or manufacturing environments. The book arrived late for us and has some slight inprovements over edition 8 but overall, they are virtually similar. I had the loose leaf version and it held up well despite being made of fine printed color paper. One of the best math texts I have come across. Excellent reference book for those using other texts in statistics courses.
This was a text for my Master's course. It was quite easy to follow, quite easy to understand. It had many good examples, as well as business implications accompanying each chapter.
