The Alexander Technique, devised by F. M. Alexander, helps to make the body more supple, responsive and healthy by encouraging a more natural and suitable posture - a way of carrying yourself that is right for you. This practical introduction includes information on how free you joints and muscles from aches and tension, improve your body's performance in all respects - from sports to driving, gain more vitality by using your body properly, and achieve a more relaxed state of mind and improve your mental abilities.
The short version of this book is "A man discovered a way to feel great in your body, go see a specialist to achieve it yourself." A lot of the history and benefits of the technique is discussed in this book, but I learned almost nothing about how to use the technique itself.
It was ok. And I get that you really need a teacher to start the Alexander Technique, but I wish there had been more of the technique in the book and less of just about the technique. I really think the method is a good one and would like to give more a try myself. This book is more an introduction, but it was loaned to me so I'm not out any money at least.
