I know Mr. Bening and I enjoyed his book very much. More so than most business biographies, his book is a love story. He clearly loved the company that he led and built into a global powerhouse in it’s important and specialized market. His colleagues and customers seem to have loved him in return.

Anyone interested in learning more about leadership and problem solving will benefit from reading FORMULATING SOLUTIONS. And I predict that you will be greatly entertained as well.

Business books are not my typical go-to reads. This book changed my view. Scott’s narrative of the growth of a Monosol, a Northwest Indiana company that makes environmentally safe, water soluble plastic, is fascinating. He illustrates how strong relationships, creativity, collaboration, negotiation, overcoming obstacles, persistence, integrity and commitment to excellence are components of success in business. The stories opened my eyes to the incredible complexity of growing a company. Each chapter reveals moments of gratitude and key take-aways. I hope more leaders follow Scott’s example of telling their stories of inspiration.
