This is my second time through reading this fine book. The struggles of our early pioneers fascinates me! Language barriers and solitude, are just two (2) of the hurdles these hardy souls had to overcome in order to succeed. Reading letters sent to their relatives they left behind - either in the old country or back East - offers so much insight to hopes, despair, dreams and disappointments. I like this book a lot and I have profound respect for those who came before me!
