Authored by a woman who also happens to be a co-wife, it presents women with a realistic first-hand experience of polygamy, reminding them that as it is of the legislations of Allah, whether we like it or not, we are to be pleased with it. This book is a necessary tool for every Muslim woman, especially those in Muslim lands where polygamy marriages are allowed. It addresses all the deepest fears and perceived shortcomings. She Doesn't Hate Polygamy, You Shouldn't Too shall also be an effort to reach millions of Muslim women, soothing their bruised hearts and helping them refocus on their reason for creation which is Allah
The title, haha! I checked it out while working part-time at a bookstore, and it's actually a solid read. It breaks down the good and bad sides of polygamy and really makes you rethink what marriage is all about. If you're the type who's super emotionally dependent on your partner, this book says polygamy won't work for you.
Surprisingly, despite the title, it's cool about wives asking for a divorce if their husbands jump into a polygamous gig. But there's this leaning towards sticking it out with your hubby. Personally, once trust gets shattered from lies and sneaking around, it's hard to bounce back from that. Can you trust someone who's been hiding stuff?
I might be a bit biased because of my own rough patch with polygamy messing up my family. Still, reading this book was a good call. And hey, if you're a guy thinking about polygamy and grabbing this for your wife, I personally dislike you BUT ANYWAYS, give it a read too! It really drives home how tough it is for someone who's all about monogamy to get stuck in that setup. Give it a shot, but keep an open mind (not easy, 'cause I struggled with it too).
