Luca is the cutest i wanted to read his book from the start his love for his family is unmatched the way he gave his kidney without a thought. so I was kind of disappointed when I read his book. Don’t get me wrong it’s not bad but it’s not great the plot just wasn’t there kat gets shot and it’s just them trying to find out who’s trying to kill her and that’s it and the killers were soo predictable too. Maybe I’m just too harsh but I wanted more for his book. Yes I maybe biased because i had very high expectations for this book but even then this book just did NOT deliver :(
Kat was amazing she was loveable and ambitious. The book just moved wayy to fast like she was already sleeping in his hospital bed like girl you just met I him I know he took a bullet for you but really he’s still a stranger .
Zane was a character that I fell in love with he was always there for Kat and that’s the type of best friend every girl deserves. He would kill for her and LITERALLY did. The way he didn't back down for Luca was super cute he was by her side every step of the way😭❤️

I love the family bond that’s runs through Valentino’s it’s soo cute how they all took turns looking after each others girls when the other was away. The way Romeo is getting jealous on his brothers behalf is adorable 😂❤️
I just wanted more of a plot from this book the story started off with Kat getting shot which was interesting but it didn’t shift from that its all they ever spoke about. I wish they had a greater love story because HE DESERVED IT AND WE DESERVE IT 😢

I can’t get enough from this author😏😏👍🏼😍🙏🏼 Even tho sometimes her books are annoying but I’m very curious about the characters😍 It just made me want to go on and on… I got curious about this book because of what i read earlier which is “chase and hope story”. Like whose the cousins of hope in new york, they seemed to be so good on what they do and I’m gonna get that😋😋😋 Especially these mens that this author’s writes, IS VERY SCARED TO THE DEATH AND VERY LOYAL TO THEIR MOTHER AND THE FEMALE AUNTS IN THE FAMILY😍😍😍 From the previous books “Following his orders” i read from this author in another series but still related though. I get to see Dominic who is from the “Unhinged Desires” is meeting with Mateo from this series. It was so funny that in their meeting, they got so scared when one of the heroine force to call their aunt and they got soooo scared about it! 🤣 Like that scene just proof that these man is very something interesting to read…
Btw following his orders and Unhinged Desires is one of my top favorites of all time from this author just saying😆😆😍

Best part of the first scene in this book! Immediately go after the heroine, not wanting a second more and immediately just pursue her and do everything to make the heroine his! SO THE STORY STARTS with the heroine’s past. What she’s been through is very rough on her… Her childhood best friend name Zane saved her life and actually do everything to keep her safe. And NO, zane is only her best friend and nothing more. Fast forward to the present, the heroine is a famous pop star whose going to perform at the football game that the hero is going to play. When she was performing in her first song, the hero was captivated by her beauty. He never seen her before, he only hear her songs very rarely cause of his family is a huge fan of the heroine. He was looking at her very closely then he saw a red beam on her chest. He knows sh*t is about to go down! He immediately went to action… The hero jumped and save the heroine from the shot and take the bullet to himself. It went to his body but thankfully he was saved and alive… The hero was so happy to save the heroine and did not regret it…. It was so freakin romantic🥺❤️

Even at first when all of them are in the hospital after the shooting, the heroine wants to go home and started to get out from the room… The hero immediately went after the heroine and told her to stay with him and keep him company. In a hospital gown where anyone can see his naked back🤣 And when the heroine was keeping him company by sleeping at the sofa in the hospital room, the hero just stare at her and watching her sleep for hours. So freakin sweet! 🥺 after the hospital, the hero immediately talked to his family about keeping the heroine safe by giving her more security guards and giving her protection from his own family. he told his family to look into her house and her fan letters to see who is targeting her. like he went so overboard which is so freakin hot! i love that!!!! at first the heroine told him no couple of times but then she gave up and she knows that’s what she needs after all… AND ALSO he went so OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE to the heroine even before they were official, he asked whose her best friend and is he her boyfriend or what lol. the hero immediately cooked her food, asking about what she wants to eat and is she hungry… When the hero meet the heroine’s manager for the first time and caught him telling the heroine what to do in a angry tone, the hero went off and told him to not disrespect her ever again… Oh, even when they just kissed, the hero already calling the heroine his girlfriend!

Even at first when all of them are in the hospital after the shooting, the heroine wants to go home and started to get out from the room… The hero immediately went after the heroine and told her to stay with him and keep him company. In a hospital gown where anyone can see his naked back🤣 And when the heroine was keeping him company by sleeping at the sofa in the hospital room, the hero just stare at her and watching her sleep for hours. So freakin sweet! 🥺 after the hospital, the hero immediately talked to his family about keeping the heroine safe by giving her more security guards and giving her protection from his own family. he told his family to look into her house and her fan letters to see who is targeting her. like he went so overboard which is so freakin hot! i love that!!!! at first the heroine told him no couple of times but then she gave up and she knows that’s what she needs after all… AND ALSO he went so OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE to the heroine even before they were official, he asked whose her best friend and is he her boyfriend or what lol. the hero immediately cooked her food, asking about what she wants to eat and is she hungry… When the hero meet the heroine’s manager for the first time and caught him telling the heroine what to do in a angry tone, the hero went off and told him to not disrespect her ever again… Oh, even when they just kissed, the hero already calling the heroine his girlfriend!

I’m sad the brothers series is over but can’t wait for Izzy’s story now! Luca is the last brother to finally fall. He is about to play in his first NFL game, standing on the sidelines while Katerina is about to sing the national anthem…Luca suddenly sees a red dot on the pop singers chest and immediately runs to cover her, him getting shot instead! The moment their eyes lock he has this connection to her and he turns in to protective alpha mode! Love how the family all comes together here and we get to see how everyone is doing and how the family keeps growing❤️ Katerina had a horrible childhood. Check TW here, suicide, suicide attempt, abuse…her dad was a POS😡Thankfully her best friend, Zane, is there for her and saves her. Back to present day…Luca may have been shot but he will not take his eyes off Kat. I love their insta lust/love story. Luca was OTT JP just the way I love them…the stalker/shooter was wrapped up pretty quick and I had a hunch on who was blackmailing Luca and Kat once he was in jail…so happy how it turned out! Love these mafia men❤️I’ve read all of Kylie’s books now and I am loving how we have NO OW DRAMA with this newer series🙌🏻🙌🏻

4.2 ⭐️ i really enjoyed this book and was really easy to read through, it was a blow of fresh air with the usual mafia aspects. Though i found this book on Tiktok as usual from the comments on this creators video about shipping Taylor Swift with the football player Travis Kelve and them looking for tropes that are similar like that. I have nothing really bad to say about the book but it was a bit predictable since the trope of mafia romance is really overdone so i really liked that the author added the popstar/football athlete trope to it.

So as I’ve said before I absolutely love Kylie’s male characters in her books but for some reason I just don’t find myself liking the female MC. Idk what it is. It’s like they are portrayed as sweet but they are annoying! They put themselves in unnecessary danger and are stubborn to a fault and it was no different here.
I loved Luca. How could you not? A possessive alpha male? Yes please. I just wanted Kat to fall for him like he did her but she pushed him away so many times.
After about half the book I did start to warm up to her and I actually liked them together.
One person I could have done without was Zane. He acted more like an old lover than a bff who was already married. He was waaay too obsessed with Kat! His wife was literally in labor and he’s like “but Kat I don’t want to leave you!” Like wtf?! Best friend my ass. He was probably my least favorite character.
Anyway I’m looking forward to Izzy’s book!!!

Amazing story!!
This is the fourth book in this phenomenal series and is Luca and Katie's story. This is a well written story which has emotions, intrigue, suspense, twists, humour, witty banter, danger, family, friendships, and unconditional love, which all leads to a riveting and entertaining page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

This was insane. But in a good way. I read it in a few hours because it was so captivating! The story is utterly ridiculous at times but I couldn’t help but love it anyway.
It all starts with an assasination attempt and Luca saving the day. What happens next is the definition of a whirlwind romance, instant love.
I absolutely loved the role all the family played in this story.
Is it a literary masterpiece? Absolutely not. But if you want to binge an easy mafia read with unhinged insta love, this is the book for you.

We get to delve into Luca and Katarina’s story
Katarina has a traumatic upbringing, her life was not what she hoped it would be, at the age of sixteen, thanks to her friend Zane, she got to live out the rest of her life in peace and comfort, making something of herself, giving herself the future she deserves.
Luca has put in the hard yards to get himself where he needs to be in the NFL, at his first game, with his family watching on, but something doesn’t feel right, and when he acts on his instinct, does he put himself on the line to save Katarina.
From here in out Katarina is thrusted into the Valentino world, where she becomes acquainted with his entire family. She feels quite overwhelmed, because she has never experienced anything like this.
But something about Katarina stirs something inside of Luca, something he has never felt before, lust is what he is feeling, but he knows it’s something more, more he isn’t ready to acknowledge, yet.

But as a family they all come together, and when they discover the truth, Katarina is shocked at the betrayal of two people closest to her, but in the end they get their comeuppance. And in a twist of fate Luca gets released, but more so happy to be back in the loving arms of his wife Katarina.
And those bedroom scenes were blazing hot and their HEA was absolutely perfect. Am sad to see this series end, but am excited to read their cousin Izzy’s story, cannot wait!

We get to delve into Luca and Katarina’s story
Katarina has a traumatic upbringing, her life was not what she hoped it would be, at the age of sixteen, thanks to her friend Zane, she got to live out the rest of her life in peace and comfort, making something of herself, giving herself the future she deserves.
Luca has put in the hard yards to get himself where he needs to be in the NFL, at his first game, with his family watching on, but something doesn’t feel right, and when he acts on his instinct, does he put himself on the line to save Katarina.
From here in out Katarina is thrusted into the Valentino world, where she becomes acquainted with his entire family. She feels quite overwhelmed, because she has never experienced anything like this.
But something about Katarina stirs something inside of Luca, something he has never felt before, lust is what he is feeling, but he knows it’s something more, more he isn’t ready to acknowledge, yet.
But someone has it out for Katarina, and Luca and his family do everything in their power to hunt down every lead, to find those responsible in the process of keeping her safe.

In this book, we're introduced to some promising storylines involving a pop star with a haunting past and a football player deeply intertwined with the mafia. Unfortunately, despite the potential, I struggled to form a connection with either of the main characters. The plot itself fell disappointingly flat, failing to engage my interest.
I was eagerly anticipating some fiery passion and rich background stories for the protagonists, but instead, I found myself skimming through numerous pages due to a lack of depth. What struck me most was how the author missed the chance to explore the growth of the main characters. Even with the presence of heroic brothers and a best friend of the heroine caught in a feud, the narrative somehow failed to deliver satisfying character development.
One of the perplexing aspects of the story was the constant peril the main characters found themselves in. While a certain level of danger can heighten suspense, it became excessive and strained credibility in this context.
A particularly puzzling character was Zane, the heroine's best friend. His behavior raised eyebrows as he appeared more concerned about the heroine's safety than his own pregnant wife and child. Didn’t enjoy this one. Too rushed, no explanations about anything and yet again NO ENDING! 😡
I really didn’t enjoy this one. Way too rushed even though it’s 269 pages. Theo has his own little chapter, T has his own, and Matteo has own chapter. It’s not long enough for them to have their own chapters. They wasn’t worth reading anyway. I couldn’t follow who everyone was in the family. I did try reading the parents series but couldn’t get into it. The author doesn’t explain who everyone is and I ended up guessing! Which was really annoying.
Katarina is a singer who is performing at Luca’s first football game. When Luca looks at her he’s instantly smitten which turns to horror when he sees the red dot on her chest, from a rifle. Luca saves Kat but is shot himself. This is all in the previous book so I’m not spoiling anything. Luca after leaving the hospital goes to Kat’s house and they’re soon madly in love and Luca and his family are hunting down whoever is trying to kill her. IT’S ALL WAY TO RUSHED! Luca still doesn’t know anything about Kat’s childhood and why she has series trauma from it, or why her best friend Zane is so close to her. It never really explains any of it to be honest. I don’t understand how they are madly in love as they don’t know anything about each other. They don’t go on dates, and they don’t have king conversations as normal couples do when getting to know each other. They have endless s*x that’s boring and that’s it.
The danger is soon resolved and it wasn’t gripping. I didn’t like how none of the brothers trusted Kat at first and Matteo is the worst as he suspects she’s behind something that happens to Luca. 😱😡

this was an okay read for me, not good not bad either. i wouldn't say it was boring just a bit tamed or bland for my own taste. the mcs connection was very instant, idk how to describe the relationship progress anymore than being way too fast that it so ridiculous.
personally, there was nothing grand or exciting that really holds my interest. because the story revolves around finding who attempted to kill kat, or the mcs alternating where to stay whether in luca's parents or kat's house.
when they finally found the person responsible for the failed murder attempts and that her it was like the issues were just glossed over. i would've wanted for them to deal with those people for at least like half a chapter and not just through a few paragraphs or sentences and leave the readers wondering what happened to them.
i also felt like the twist with was dropped out of nowhere. i knew something was up when the but i didn't expect it to backfire like that, and my reaction was "huh" and "hmm" 'cause idk what to feel about that.

This was another cute read. I love the mafia vibes, insta-love, the protectiveness and of course the signature happily ever after. I can not get enough of Kylie's books. I think I have read every one of her except for maybe 2. The sons of Valentino series is a great series and this is the conclusion of this series.
This is the story of the final Valentino son Luca. He is a football player. He is strong, protective, and head over heels in love with Kat. He meets her when he is at his football game and Kat is singing the National Anthem where she is shot at. Luca jumps up and takes the bullet for Kat to save her life. He knows instantly that she is his and that he is going to be with her for the rest of his life. Luca refuses to let Kat out of his sight once he comes to the hospital. She stays with him and then when he is "released" he goes to Kat's house. He and his brothers along with the rest of the family helps track down who shot at Kat. He loves her instantly and is the definition of swoony book boyfriend.
Kat is amazing, lovable, and ambitious. She comes from a not so strong family background, and has risen to be a top performing pop artist. I love her relationship with her best friend Zane. He is protective of Kat as well. There has never been any relationship between Zane and Kat, he's more like her big overprotective brother. This story is fast paced but we do get some insight to her background with her family at the beginning of the story. Of course she falls in love with Luca. After they find out about who was behind the attack of Kat they do get their happily ever after.

Would love to give a 5 star but here my out …
Well, I love this book up to Chapter 20 something at least. Problem is, I appreciate how complex this book is compared to other stories in the Sons of Valentinos. However, this complexity is too rushed in a book that’s only 32 chapters. I think there has to be more foreshadowing that will lead readers to be able to agree with the conclusion that those two were the antagonists in the climax of this story. So, there you go… you miss giving hints to help readers. It’s kinda jumpy for me to finally get the conclusion that those two were the culprits. And then there is the critical problem about stealing her money that’s also too quick to be delivered in the story. I suggest to keep trying to write better.
Also, I figure that this author lacks of ability to describe and deliver feelings in her story. I can feel word for word until at least chapter 20. But after that, I feel that the author lost touch in the feelings for the story but rushing the development of the story in order to finish the book. I definitely lose my enjoyment of reading this book because of that.
I also find it a bit cringy because I cannot quite empathize with the musicality that the author is trying to bring. Problem is, feelings and making readers feel deeply through her story is not her strongest virtue. So, the lyrics and the love letters presented in the book lack momentum and emotions for me.
Please learn more from authors such as Neva Altaj and Natasha Knight as well as JL Beck who can write with emotional effects for their readers.

Reckless Devil gives us Luca, the Valentino that we fell in love with in the earlier books and the one that laughed at his brothers when they fell in love. He was going to be the pro football player that stays single forever. Well, that was until he stepped in front of a bullet to save a pop star. Something changes in Luca and now he is infatuated with Kat, the pop star that he saved. He will not let her out of his life and stakes his claim. How will Kat deal with everything that has happened? Her history is not one that is full of rainbows and happiness but pain, heartbreak and loneliness. When her childhood friend tells her who the Valentino family is, will her feeling for Luca change? The connection that she feels towards Luca is so strong but she is a woman that doesn't let people tell her what to do and how to live, so how will she deal with him and his family? I love the Valentino family and how they joke, laugh and love with everything they have. Luca and Kay's story is one that you have to pick up but make sure you have the time to read it cover to cover as you may not be able to put it down.

Reckless Devil is book four in the Sons of Valentino series by Kylie Kent. We've had the pleasure of reading the stories of Theo Jnr, Matteo, and Romeo so far and, this time, we are treated to Luca and Kat's story. Luca has never really wanted to follow in the family footsteps within the Mafia, and instead has been focussed on a professional American football career. He has bagged the opportunity of a lifetime, and while waiting to start the game, his eyes fall upon Kat, a famous singer hired to sign the national anthem before the game... Mesmerised by her voice, he is only pulled from his thoughts by the little red dot, a sniper's laser, aimed at her.
Another great instalment in both this series, and the Merge empire as a whole. I've loved all of Kylie's books and this one is no different. We have met Luca previously, in his brother's books, but his character development was really strong within this book and is was wonderful to reading the budding relationship he yearns for with Kat. The shifting POV is great for the reader to see each character's perspective and we are even treated to a cameo here and there from Theo Snr!
The writing vows well, with the chapters a good length. Kylie has the ability to hook you in and keep you wanting to turn each page - both wanting to finish the book as soon as possible, while also trying to savour every word, making it last. There is plenty of suspense, twists, turns and steam within the story and I would 100% recommend.

The last Valentino brother bites the dust!
I kind of thought we would get a sports romance because Luca was a professional football player for the Giants, but that was not what this book was at all! We got the (delicious) mafia vibe that we also got in the other ones, with a little bit of murder here and a little bit of torture there ;-)
This was another case of total instalove (and I’m a junkie for that, I mean life is short, show me the love!!). The relationship between these two moves at the speed of light and I was happy to go on the ride with them. We got sweet romance (love seeing these tough alphas be total puppydogs for their women) and some delicious spice!
We got the usual family dynamics and got to see all the other characters from previous books. It just feels like a warm embrace reading about the Valentino family dynamics. These people would literally do anything for each other. This always becomes apparent when the ish hits the fan and they band together for revenge.
I skipped Matteo’s book because I normally don’t enjoy friends to lovers, especially when they are supposedly in love but still with others…but I just can’t let this family go yet, so I guess I’m diving into that one now!

The final story in the SOV series! I was looking forward to Luca's book, because as I said in my previous review, we didn't know anything about his love interest other than she was a singer who Luca has just saved.
I'm personally not a big fan of musician based romances but I like how Kat's story tied into this and brought her into the Valentino's world. I wasn't expecting some of the reveals we got in regards to who was trying to hurt her, so I'm glad this kept me guessing.
Kat and Luca had a really good chemistry between them and I liked the back and forth they had going. It had a slightly sarcastic humour to it which I'm a big fan of, and seeing some of their internal thoughts/comments to one another made me laugh!
I think the humour in particular is one thing Kylie has done really well throughout this series. It's been my favourite part of reading each book. The family banter, as well as the humour between each couple has felt natural and not overdone or unrealistic. E.g. Matteo telling Livvy that Katarina is now his fave SIL or Luca deliberately not telling Theo what was in the gym and then watching him snoop 😂
