Rate this book
Venus is ecstatic about her husband’s new career as a movie star thanks to a role in a searing romantic drama with costar Sirena Lassiter. That is, until Venus learns Jake and Sirena’s relationship goes back further than Jake wants to admit. Venus isn’t happy when the new “It” team’s hectic promotion schedule takes them to exotic locations while she must stay behind with a business to run and a daughter to raise. However, it’s not long before Venus senses danger. When she receives advice from her one-time archenemy, Trevelle Doval, the queen of late-night evangelical television, Venus, in her trademark style, decides to save her marriage by any means necessary. But when the paparazzi get involved, all hell breaks loose. Will Venus be able to keep her man or has she lost Jake forever?

I've become very acquainted with the character Venus over Ms. Thomas' last, what, three Un-Nappily installments. I could never really decide if I liked her or not. Sometimes she was cool; other times, amazingly (and annoyingly) neurotic. In Un-Nappily in Love, she really just annoyed me. I found myself actually saying out loud, "Boy, you are STUPID!" But I couldn't put the book down and for me, that's a good sign. I love the character Jake, couldn't stand Sirena, and was picturing Terrence Howard as her powerful fiance, Earl. I was half expecting Clint Black to make a re-appearance, but he never did. That's too far in Venus's past, I suppose. And Venus's mother, Pauletta...loved her, too. She brought some common sense and humor into the house when Jake wasn't there. I admired Jake's quiet strength and discipline; he had a few close-calls, and at times I felt myself becoming annoyed with him, too, but I guess it's not too bad a thing to get miffed at a dude for having a big heart. Being vulnerable to vulnerable women can be dangerous, but thankfully good heads prevailed (no pun intended). And Travelle...I really didn't get the whole thing with her and Vince, or why Venus allowed her to work in her shop when she really couldn't stand her, or why Vince was always taking her side (which was also annoying) but she became human towards the end.
Overall, I can see myself reading this book again. And I'm left to wonder if there is another Un-Nappily tale to come.

Slow start, but once the twist and turns started I couldn't it down. Jake and Venus have a unbreakable bond and I can't wait to read the next book.

Easy Read

This was a great read. This has quickly become my favorite series. I couldn’t put the book down. I love Venus and Jake’s family and are rooting for them. Trisha does a great job bringing them to life.

This is a good book overall and we are introduced to some new characters. My biggest issue is that Venus and Jake seem to brush any problems off until it’s too late. What so hard about handling your business properly the first time. In this book, we learn about Jake’s past with Sirena and the lies that she told. I can’t figure out if Sirena is delusional or devious. She’s another one who creates her own problems and blames other people. Vince, the Senator and Trevelle were my favorite characters this time around. I love how Vince balances Venus and Trevelle out and he’s the voice of reason. The Senator is a fun character, who brings comic relief when needed. He’s also a good friend to Venus despite his flirtatious nature. I would recommend this series.

Well I'm finished and what a roller-coaster 🎢 ride this one was.

Whew!!!!!

The things one does for marriage or a good relationship.

Jake has some decisions to make.

Travelle has some decisions to make.

Miriam (Venus girlfriend) has some decisions to make.

Serena has a secret to tell after 9 years. Now what is she really up to?

And why NOW?

Well in Un-Nappily In Love is where the answers are held.

This one is bittersweet, but I enjoyed it all the same, & can't wait for the next one.

Nappily About Us. Since in this one Venus is expecting. Hope its a boy!!

Until....

Happy Reading 📚...

Ciao💋

I laughed, became angry, cried, and smiled with glee. This book me up and down like a rollercoaster! Though Venus was just too fearful and meek in these Nappily chapters, my heart wanted her to win. So much has transpired, leaving her sad and lost. As always, Jake was her hero though he catered to the enemy a bit too damn much in this story! And her archenemy becoming the voice of reason and a TRUE FRIEND?! Heartwarming!

This book was slow to start but once it got started I didn’t want to put the book down. I really enjoyed reading about these characters well all but Sierra. Sierra finally got what she deserves. The husband was working my nerves too but not as much as Sierra. Good Story

This book was slow in the beginning. However, things became more interesting towards the end. I’m interested in knowing how things pan out for Venus and Jake.

Uhmmmm....I wasn't crazy about this book. I haven't read any of the other "Nappily" novels & from the reviews I've read, it appears that Thomas has done better in her other novels. Anyway, Thomas kept me engaged and interested throughout the story and I found the book a quick, interesting read. Of course, I really disliked Sirena but there weren't any other characters I really "liked." This book may deserve a 3.5 star rating, but I definitely didn't want to give it 4 stars, so it's stuck with an average 3 stars. The book had a solid plot, pseudo-intriguing characters, and kept me semi-interested, but for the genre and writing, I just wasn't too excited.

Life is still dramatic for Venus and Jake. While I did feel mistakes were being made and remade, this book in the series was a great read. Not frustrating. Venus actually thought things through for a change. I wonder why her and Jake, (even when on solid ground) still find reasons to bring chaos into their marriage? Love Pauletta's character. That's Venus's mother. Hated the Sirena character. There is really no need for her to be there. At any rate, I just realized there is another book in the series. I started it with mixed emotions. Now I don't want it to end.

I will give this book a 4 star rating. I didn't love it as much as I loved the other books. The other books had me guessing and being wrong with the outcome. This one had me guessing and being right. Some plot lines were too predictable. I love that Venus and Jake worked things out and didn't like the hollywood star come between them. The way the book ended, I feel like there will be another installment in the future. Good job Trisha Thomas, you've delivered yet another page turner.

This book moved so slow. however, I liked how the author recapped what happened to the characters from the previous book . I did not like how she knocked Nora Roberts in one of her chapters. I am surprised how this book fell off. I adored books four and five. I sincerely hate how the senator is always flirting with Venus and his wife never happens to be around. this book failed to hold my attention.

Jake, Venus, and Sirens

Serena broke Jake's heart once and thought she could just waltz back into his life and take him back.

The best part of the book was the fight scene. Venus may be tiny but she is still mighty.

In kindergarten, Mya learns that children can be cruel and Venus learns that she cannot protect Mya always.

I love this series and cannot wait to read the next installment.

Sheesh...I really enjoyed reading this one! I love the Venus character...with all her flaws. This one had me teary, laughing, anxious...a real up and down feeling. I suggest that anyone who has read the Nappily series read this book. Those who haven't read any of the series, jump on board and get with the program. I pray Trisha R. Thomas has another book in store for this series....

Okay so I really liked this one too. The whole time I could hear myself talking to the characters, hoping they wouldn't do this, or wishing that they would do that. I really like Venus, and I enjoyed the growth of the main characters. Once again she shined a light on relationship problems and possible solutions.

I really enjoy the journey through these books. I don't always agree with how Jake and Venus do things but it can be a fun journey. The writing was smooth and took you on through it. At times it was predictable but still enjoyable.

I have read all of Trisha Thomas' books and they are wonderful. You won't be disappointed. All of the books have some sort of craziness going on but that is what holds my interest.
