“We’re just a pack, standing in front of an omega, asking her to mate with us.”
Corny movie line, right? Effective? Not the first time.
But that’s the middle of the story. Let’s rewind a few weeks, where I, Storm Rivers, back out of a popular coffee shop chain, trip over a disgruntled Cockapoo, and dump my Latte Macchiato all over Knotting Hill’s most notorious playboy, Jonathan Pierce St. Luc, or JP for short.
As a result, I end up with no coffee on a need-coffee day, an unexpected dry cleaning bill and a pack that has decided to chase unenthusiastic me across half of London.
But the reputation of the St. Luc’s doesn’t end with the prime alpha’s. They’re each as bad as the other with the string of omegas they date.
When they decide I'm going to be theirs, how far will they go to claim me?
This is a Non-Shifting, Reverse Harem Omegaverse Standalone with some content warnings. Please note this is set in England with British characters using British English.
Eve is a USA Today Bestselling Author with a specialty for steamy romance with strong female leads.
She lives in the UK, with her husband and five kids, so finding the time to write is short, but definitely sweet. Eve has a number of series, both completed and on the go and hopes to release some new and exciting projects, both paranormal and contemporary in the future, so stay tuned!
I was hoping for something light and fluffy, and whilst this in fact was light and fluffy, it had no depth. The complete 180 for the fmc Storm, when she goes from "Hell no, these manwh0res can go eff themselves" to "I love them so much!" without anything actually warranting said change made absolutely no sense.
Also the mmcs declaring their love for her when all they know about her is her name, workplace and love for romcoms? Makes no sense. I can buy instalust because it's omegaverse and scentmatches are a thing. But insta-love without even a single date between them? Just no.
This book has zero and I mean zero depth and relationship development. It was like half the book is missing somewhere. And the abrupt ending. It read more like a novella really as it was a short short read.
It's probably the worst and weakest book of this series, I have read so far. In general, Eve Newton is a toss up for me. I don't think I ever rated a book of her with 5 stars. I'm often in love with the premise of the books, which makes me want to read it, but then it isn't really well executed.
Omegaverse is my favorite genre. So, I read a lot of them. It's a pity, that this book of Eve Newton isn't to my taste. She really has good ideas. I hate to rate a book badly, because authors put a lot of work into it and even though, it isn't always perfect, I still find things I liked.
Here it is the idea behind the story, and the humor in some moments. And some scenes are really good, too. It isn't all bad. I like Eve Newton writing style either.
But a lot of things don't make sense and I don't like the predictability. Meaning, she uses a lot of misunderstandings and communication problems. Don't get me wrong. I know a lot of other authors use it, too. I mean, it creates drama and all. But you can do it in a way, that isn't so predictable. Example:
I'm not a fan of this kind of misunderstandings etc., if they are that simple and frankly only there to create drama/prolong a story unnecessary. Misunderstandings can happen, but it sometimes it is annoying as well, when it could have been avoided in a simple way. There is a difference for me. For example, when it is a misunderstanding of the content. Like I once read in a book, where an MC talked about his ex, but it sounded like she is dead. So, the FMC didn't really get the meaning and avoided talking about the topic or ask questions. Later on, it got problematic, of course. But it happened because of the wrong presumption of the FMC and a bad choice of words by the MC. It wasn't intentional or anything, or made the story predictable. It created drama, but not in a bad way for me. If you get what I mean. I couldn't remember a better example.
The rest of the story didn't always make sense, as I said. I get the principal of instalove. Though, it's not my favorite setting, I don't have anything against it. And if it is explained well, it makes sense. Like most OV have fated mates or scent matches. That makes it understandable.
Here I didn't really understand it. I mean, one moment they sit in that café and Josh talks about mating, which JP and Russell don't want. Then the next, JP collides with Storm, and is instantly infatuated with her. Then he has to explain it to Russell, who wasn't struck with the same impression. And he only is interested in her as well, after JP made him think about it. The only one, I believed it, was Josh. Because he instantly reacted to her, when he passed her at the door.
Then there is Storm. I could understand her quest to be independent and all. In general, she is likeable. But she had a lot of questionable moments. For one, she is judgy with the guys. I'm not a fan of judging people for their past. Everyone makes mistakes, and it isn't fair to hold that against someone for eternity. People can change. And if you like to have fun and go around, without hurting anyone, especially when you are single, why not? It's not my lifestyle, but why should I judge others for it? Sure, I can understand that a woman is hesitant and more cautious, when she is confronted with that. If you're searching for something serious, then being another notch at the bedpost isn't for you. But still, you are able to communicate that. They are adults.
But first and foremost, you shouldn't judge the actions of the past, but the present. And they show her that she is something special. Still, she just sees them as manwh*res. And then she wants to do something similar and doesn't judge her behavior the same way. That is hypocritical to me. Not to forget, that she believes everything bad she hears. Like when Emma tells her, that Russell had sex with her. And she believed it without questioning it. Even though, she doesn't know Emma and thinks she is strange.
Not to forget, I can't understand, why JP or even Storm allowed Christopher St. Luc to be sniffing around their home or anything? I would have taken measurements, like cutting contact. I wouldn't want my future children even near those kinds of parents. And which kind of homekeeper just lets people in the houses of the employers without asking if it's okay?
Not to forget all corny movie moves and stuff like that. That felt a lot like copy and paste. Nothing unique.
So, it had potential, but it just wasn't executed in the best way. And some stuff felt immature and stupid. So, I can't ignore so many things, even when I want to like a story.
I love the idea of the book and the setting but I feel like there’s a lot to unpack. I am not a huge fan of the style of writing. It is solely a tell not show the reader. There is a TON of “I” statements “I sigh, I reach, I roll over, I pull, I need, I like…” and that was the very first page. This type of writing felt immature . The book didn’t feel fleshed out, and there were some things brought up but never extended on like the whole inheritance thing, and her old job going under, the ex girlfriend . There’s no depth.
I felt like the characters were very flat , going from lust to love almost immediately. The FMC was annoying. All she did was run off to her apartment at the slightest bit of anything. I liked that she was commitment phobic but it didn’t seem to last long and honestly the pack didn’t really seem to be anything special. Your basic rich playboys, one owns a bookstore. There’s nothing to like from both fmc and mmc. They all suck, lack depth, lack personality. And they don’t know each other. They’re “so in love” but they know nothing except her favorite drink and song? I mean maybe this was something in middle school or high school but come on? I wanted to like this and had to push through, I almost stopped at 87% because it just didn’t keep my attention, if I didn’t need to finish the book to reach my reading goal I probably would’ve stopped…. Knott sure I’d read another book by this author if this is her style
This book would have been a whole lot more believable if all the characters were 15 years old. The beginning of the book with the MMCs casually bragging about their conquests the night before while extremely hung over... if they are 15, then of course they can't handle their alcohol and they exaggerate their success with girls. Then they proceed to try to woo their crush with all the subtlety of a 15 year old, by hitting up all her friends and asking for a list of her favorite things. And of course the friends oblige this information because what 15 year old girl is going to deny the popular boys anything? They even task the beta with asking the FMC's mother for her favorite song. They then decide that their grand gesture should be throwing a party? They proceed to cockblock the FMC while on a date because they have SMELLED her and therefore own her? Despite the fact that she is NOT interested and does not know them from Adam, she owes them fidelity because they have abstained from casual sex for one whole week??? Did not, could not finish.
🔥 Omegaverse 🔥 Insta-Attraction 🔥 3 guys, 1 girl, no M/M 🔥 Just 3 guys trying to mate the girl...
Quick, easy read. 3 guys work hard to get the girl. They have a rather long history of one night stands and she is worried that they won't stick with her. It was an insta attraction for the guys and it took awhile for her to get on board.
My Personal Ratings:
5 Stars: Loved it! Couldn’t put it down or obsessed about it while needing to get to the end of it. Had to share some bits with my hubby!! Usually read in less than 2 days cause a girl has got to sleep sometime. Will be reading everything this author has to offer and most likely reread the series as next books in the series are released.
4 Stars: Really Good. Whether the story drew me in or a specific character, will definitely continue the series and look into more books by this author.
3 Stars: Enjoyed something about the book, whether it be the storyline or a character but also may have not liked something. Sometimes the book is great but needs some TLC from an editor. May or may not continue the series.
I typically love Eve Newton and therefore eagerly set everything else aside so I could devour this book. Sadly, I was ready to DNF it long before I hit the halfway point. The FMC is an omega who thinks men who f— everything that moves aren’t worth her time. What kind of pack does she end up with? Manwh-res. It makes no sense.
Spoiler alert.
The scene that really made no sense to me was when Storm strips down naked and invites JP into her nest and then DOESN’T insist on a condom!!!! Seriously!?!? This is a guy who has so many notches on his bedpost, you can even tell the color of the wood’s original stain. Storm just did a complete 180 on these guys for no good reason. I also didn’t understand why her bestie and mom didn’t really care about her objections to these guys. And she let them. It was almost as though she had no self esteem or self confidence, so she let her mom and bestie decide her life for her.
This one didn’t leave me with all the feels. Unless our definition of feels has changed to “confused and disgusted.”

I thought the last omega book I read was the worst..nope it’s this one. The characters are bland, boring story..half way through I just couldn’t make myself keep reading..who in there right mind (other than gold diggers) would want to be there with a pack that when you went to a nightclub, Coffee shop or anywhere actually and had slept with most of them..every where you went, you could throw a coin and hit someone they had there dick in…I know we want someone’s who know what there doing but damn…if it’s you, then for god sake get some self respect… sorry sorry, these books are really starting to piss me off….. LOL. To me they always have the female omegas be WAY TOO emotional and give in to easily, I won’t be reading anything else from this author…. Think it maybe time to give up my kindle….
It started off promising but the cracks started show by 30% and by 50% I was skimming.
Why?
Because there was no reason for this pack to pursue Autumn . This is a contemporary OV, with more modern day sensibilities, so digging the smell alone isn’t enough of a reason. They knew nothing about each other. At 90%, the most depth we have is her favorite song and favorite drink. They. Don’t. Know. Each. Other. A relationship was never built.
We spent this entire book watching her spurn them and then work for her. But…. Why?
I seem to be on a bit of an omegaverse kick at the moment and have been working my way through this series. This was a really enjoyable story, it was so nice to read a low angst story where the mfc's main problem is that the pack who want her have a reputation as players and she doesn't trust that they are genuine and will want her for more than just one night. I loved seeing the 3 packmates completely make an about face from their previous behaviour and go all out to convince her that this is real and they want to mate her. I think Josh came over as the most likeable of the St.Luc's, I know he isn't an Alpha but sometimes Beta is better! An enjoyable and entertaining read
I loved the story line and each character had a ton of promise. Compared to the others in the series this feels a bit shorter, which may explain why I felt this moved a bit too quickly. Things felt a bit glossed over and had some “too movie” style over the top quotes. I felt like I’d skipped something in between certain scenes and we just arrived at a new vibe or someone changed their mind very suddenly.
All in all was a good read even though I wished there was more story building.
3.5 stars but rounded up for no grammatical errors
I almost didn't finish it, and I skipped over the last few chapters because it just dragged on. The characters seem so immature to me, felt like they should have all been barely out of high school. Will I read this again? Definitely no, the characters acted too immature for me. It felt like a high school soap opera. Not my cup of tea at all.
Fluffy omegaverse with an independent Omega Storm who wants to make her own way in the world. She meets her future pack who are not worthy. They are immature and a bit sleazy and Storm deserves so much better. The pack had no character growth and the only excuse that I could think of for Storm to be with them is hormones. They have not changed or shown why they deserve to have this woman as their own. I was left feeling a bit dissatisfied.
In the mood for a sweet omegaverse? This one is perfect. This book has a nice balance of sweet, angst, and spice. The characters are great and very likable. It was a quick read that I just couldn’t put down. I combined reading this one with listening to the Audible which was very well done. The narrator did a great job, and it was fun listening to this British story actually being narrated by a British voice actor. Definitely recommend. 4.5⭐️ 2.5🌶
Zero development. All of the drama was literally so messy and the MMCs are obsessed with FMC without actually knowing her.
All of the characters fuck up nonstop, but the guys honestly can’t get their shit together. At one point, they become frustrated (after their own actions, literally) and make comments to each other about how they aren’t sure she’s worth all the effort.
This read as if written by someone who isn’t British, there were distracting inaccuracies that kept pulling me out of the story. The audiobook narrator didn’t help, she was unable to do convincingly different voices for the male characters so, as it’s mpov and therefore all in the first person I kept losing track of who was talking. It’s a shame as with dual or duet narration the inaccuracies of British life could have been overlooked and it would otherwise have been decent.
A fun lil insta-love but resistant contemporary omegaverse. Was it a little quick that some characters changed their mind on things? Yeah. Was it still a fun sappy book? Yeah.
If you just want fluff and happy stuff this is a perfect lil book. I think there are a few issues with how motivations change but it’s all super forgivable.
Great characters and chemistry make this a fantastic tale of men neets woman. Woman makes man work for it. Just to watch it all snowball into one mishap after another.
It was cute, but honestly I wanted more fluff, most of this book the main girl and the pack didn't even really speak much. I dont hate insta love books but there was not enough interaction between her and the boys at all
I did not connect with the story, I didn’t particularly like any of the characters or the plot line. Felt too much like reading reality TV and not the kind I enjoy. A lot of angst and miscommunication that could have easily been avoided.
What an Omega wants is to know the truth. When running into the pack of her future is that their past want stand in the way. Working for what a pack wants make the Knott to love sweeter.
Knotting Hill: Get Knotted! was not a story that I couldn’t put down, but it was still a good read nonetheless. The story had a couple highlight-worthy moments and a sweet HEA.
Idk Eve really missed the mark with this one. I'm giving up on their series because of this book. The men only seem to want her because they need her sexually.
3 out of 5 stars! This had a sweet rom-com feel, but it wasn't something that I liked a lot of the way through. Watch/hear my FULL review here: https://youtube.com/shorts/UVwb64O0kk0
This was great I was looking forward to the next book in this series and it didn’t disappoint. The boys worked hard for storm and I’m happy for them all
