The Golden Dragon's Surrogate
Nicole is a young covenless Dragon Summoner witch. She is completely alone, save for her familiar, a cat named Lucky. Finding herself in dire need of money, she decides that the fastest way to solve all her problems is to become a surrogate to a Golden Dragon. Little does she know that even at the height of her desperation, the transaction won’t be easy. It becomes almost impossible to separate business and pleasure when she can’t stop herself from desiring the man who hired her. Secrets and a haunted past stand in her way of truly allowing herself to love him. It’s forbidden. Alev is one of the last Golden Dragons. Abandoned by his girlfriend, he is devastated and heartbroken. He gave up on relationships and love, and only wants a baby. Only a Dragon Summoner witch, or his fated mate, can give him that. His search yielded one viable candidate; a beautiful stranger amongst the rare Dragon Summoners in the world. Alev feels undeniably attracted by her unique melancholic blue eyes and their mysteries. An unexpected desire erupts between them, like wildfire. Nicole’s destiny crashes into her reality as she has to contemplate leaving the baby she carries and the man who seared his very existence into her thoughts and dreams. This book is soooo beautiful. The plot. The characters. The Spice. The humour. Everything.
Let's start with the characters. I love Alev and Nicole. Alev is perfect. He's a panty-melting swoon-worthy yet sweet dragon. Nicole is so brave and I just want to hug her. And ofcourse Lucky, Nicole's familiar is the star of the book she had me cackling like a crazy person. She's hilarious. The book also had a storyline that keeps you hooked and twists and turns that I definitely did not see coming. I mean the end...wow.
This book is a duet so it ended on a cliffhanger...I cannot wait until part 2. Overall, I LOVEEEE THIS BOOK.

I have nearly 300 books on my TBR but when I read the description of this one it shot right up to the top of the list. Breeding? Dragons? Surrogate? SIGN ME UP!
Sadly, I knew a few pages into this that the author’s writing style would not be for me. However, I still loved the premise and was determined to push on for the plot. Ultimately, however, there wasn’t really enough of one to keep me engaged.
Some aspects I couldn’t move past:
⚠️ The FMC is extremely childish (one example: she keeps referring to the MMC’s 🍆 as his “willy” which is a very childish word for penis in British English)
⚠️ Gratuitous amount of exclamation marks and over usage/repetitive phrases (“holy Nyx!”)
⚠️ Miscommunication trope. Nicole and Alev spend what feels like 90% of their (frequent) internal dialogue reminding themselves why they can’t have a relationship with the other. Who are you trying to convince, you or me?
⚠️ POV switching multiple times within a chapter, even to random side characters
⚠️ Grammar/tense/wording errors (example (although there are several), “Mariam is heavenly pregnant…” instead of “heavily”)
⚠️ Biological aspects of the mating/pregnancy felt off to me (ie. he’s supposed to get her pregnant, but they were only supposed to have sex for 3 days during her fertile window? Or how the MMC could “hear the heartbeat” 13 days after conception?). I know the Dragon biology is supposed to be different but I just wasn’t buying it
⚠️ Cringy and/or confusing descriptions or dialogue. For example:
“His chin was…square and virile” (since when is a chin virile?)
“Hope would make me wish for the light not to be an instant of illusion. Even though I knew it would rain again, it would always rain. To hope I dared not.” (Um, what?)
“But his penis was still deep inside, and it didn’t feel limp or anything.”
“Respect her, lizard-head!” (MMC talking to his dragon)
I think the story has a lot of potential, but sadly this one isn’t for me.

What can I say about this book/author. She is utterly fantastic. I started reading her work through the Dreame app and now that she has started to self publish, I will own all her books. I know what I like to read and she has created a world that is a wonderful fantasy that almost feels real. Her characters speak to the heart and this book delivers that feeling. If you like fantasy/supernatural stories you definitely should read this book. You will fall in love. I can't wait until the final part of this book (book is complete, but story continues in another book) is on paperback because that one will be purchased too.

OK, for starters this book/author is not your typical romance book. Her character depth and descriptions are amazing. I feel like I can picture every word that she writes. If you enjoy romance, fantasy, or have ever been curious about either one this is a must read.🔥🔥🔥 However, I will warn you that no other book or author will compare after TR Durant she is truly talented! Do not forget about the part two because trust me once you read part one you will NEED a part two! There is something for everyone in these books romance, fantasy, thrills, and it leaves you on the edge of your seat with twists and turns that just add so must to each characters story.

Yet again, T.R. Durant has created a world that sucks the reader in. She creates a connection with her characters that makes you want to continue reading and learn more.
The twists and turns in this book made me gasp as more and more was revealed. I cannot wait for the rest of this series, with so much more to learn. It's a cliffhanger for sure, but I know she will deliver as the series progresses—a great intro to the world of Dragon Shifters.
* Steamy and detailed but almost tame compared to some of the other books she has written. It is safe for work as long as no one is reading over your shoulder.

This book keeps you reading , I found this author on a site read the book there first had to own it.
It’s a magical story of a young witch trying to save her sister and she finds love with a dragon shifter. He is last of his kind only a few left from there group. He needs or wants a child after a heart breaking break up. But with his wants comes danger and live.
This story is about strong people who find love but also fight battles to get it. Is is a 2 part book so can’t wait for next one to come out

A very sweet and intensely steamy paranormal romance story with a swoon-worthy dragonshifter and heroine who finds the strength to fight those she loves.
The characters and the plot had sufficient depth though the plot was more character-driven but I found it very enjoyable.
Nicole's familiar Lucky was given a hilarious character and served for many comical moments.
In the narrative Spanish, Greek and Irish expressions were nicely placed to enrich the story and the characters. I loved it! Compared to other stories where foreign expressions are used, here it was strategically placed and for me the story was easy to follow without any confusions.
The only thing I can criticise is that the story was a bit too fast-paced for me. Nevertheless I liked the narrative style from the dual POV.
I first read the story on a reading platform and I just can applaud the author for her debut! I am not only looking forward to the sequel but also to her future work!

What an amazing book 😍
Amazing story with fantastic storyline, twist and plot were so good . The writing was captivating. The humour and spice in this book is alot 😂🤣
Besides MMC and FMC Alev and Nicole, Lucky the familiar cat of Nicole just stole the the whole audience in my opinion. She was the star of the book with her little sassy and snarky remarks 🤦♀️🤣🤣🤣.
Overall I love this book and waiting for book 2 , because it ended with huge cliffhanger 🙈😂💜🥰

You will not regret opening this book, every single second of your time will be worth it. It has the perfect balance of sweet and steamy. It will keep you wondering what’s coming next or when the other shoe is going to drop. It has hysterical moments and heartfelt moments, and it has just the right amount of cat royalty, essentially it has everything.

The author is plain amazing.Her book just draws you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more needing to know what's turns twists and fun romantic crazy stuff may happen in this wonderful book! Nicole and Alev. First a surrogate and slowly something more deep. The villain is always watching them closely and slowly try to get what he want. Never know what will happen next. Amazing book. I highly recommend this author other books as well. 😍

Amazing!!!!
This book is wonderful & On-going which is so fun because it is like you are tuning into your favorite tv show but in a Book! I love this Author and all her other Books!! Check out the author as she is capable of taking you on a journey filled with all the feels.

Loved this book. Beautiful dynamics and teamwork. I love dragons and think every girl should have one. Love the FL strength and perseverance; loyalty and love that gets the characters through some tough twists.

This book was really well written. I love how Alev and Nicole started out as just a contract surrogate and then it turned into something more. I love how the book moved along very smoothly. I’ve reread this book a few times because I absolutely adore the love story between Alev and Nicole.

How is this not more popular... I haven't read very many dragonshifter books but this plot sucked me in. Alev the MMC was swoon worthy, the spice is 🌶️🌶️
