This is simply a great volume of the letters of one of the best poets of the twentieth century and one of my favorite poets. With an introduction and commentary ny Langdon Hammer this volume is useful to read in conjunction with Crane's poetry. The drama of a poet's life was never on better display.

The only real poetic statement we have--beyond a few scattered essays. Irrepressible personality. Fantastic writer. Highly recommended.
