Excellent, practical strategies for engaging students through assessment and helping students to invest in their own learning. I thought I'd be put off by the scenarios in each chapter but I actually found them helpful for visualizing how good intentions can go wrong. The book does feel repetitive in places but, again, I think that is intentional to emphasize and reiterate key practices and ideologies. Can't wait to do this as a book study in my district - I think it will open the eyes of new and veteran teachers.
