A wonderful book about stumpwork techniques and history. It provides good details on technique and history, but it should not be your only book on technique. Hurst presumes that you know your way around a needle, so if you want details, you need to couple this book with others. Still I got a lot of great ideas and interesting tidbits that I didn't know, even though this is my 4th book on stumpwork. It is definitely a worth while addition to the stitching library.

A good book for the technical aspect of this type of embroidery. Patterns are too modern for me though. Not much about the history of the technique.
